Thanks to everyone who turned up to the Nimrod's Son show last night. I was kinda bemused/unamused by the shouting and "dancing" townie mouth-breathing wideboys who for some reason decided to watch a Pixies tribute, but it was a nice gig apart from that. Maybe it really is time to call it a day..
Leah, great singing onstage, you're a natural born performer! Jo, sorry I didn't meet you at the bar after the show, we had to head off straight away- the trials and tribulations of being a pretend rockstar..

I was in tears, although I think that was also the alcohol - I'll never forget that moment :) ever!
and Andy, no worries, still, got to say hi very briefly anyway! We headed upstairs not long afterwards, cause the music deteriorated after you left the stage! However, upstairs was a LOT better!
And ignore those townies. Saw them at the start of the gig, and we did wonder what they were there for, I heard them sing "you're shit and you know you are" and I did feel like wandering up and asking them why they were bothering to stay if they felt that way, cause you certainly weren't, but I also figured having a normal conversation with them could be a losing battle... so we all just tried to shout for 'U-Mass' loudly instead!
ANYWAY, you're not allowed to call it a day - for heavens sake, I got two people from North London along this time! This is just the start! Next time I'll have more!! And they were both able to get a tube home, thus quashing any rumours about South London transport being bad! |

yeah doog, don't chuck it on - i had a great night. you guys were really good...i normally am pretty negative about cover bands, but you guys really pulled it off well. The highlight for me was your screaming in caribou……it was great…
And thanks to Jo for her hospitality, and the fabulous Uncle Wrinkle – it most certainly was the best Chinese I’ve had in London…
And also for the copy of bam thwok….very ‘amps’

Just thought I'd throw that in there... |

Yeah, we would have come to London for two nights if we'd had more time to organise it. Then we could have come along too. Next time. Keep it up Doog.

Maybe we'll do a couple more shows at the Venue then, they've offered us another in October.

excellent, well unless I'm elsewhere, I'll be there! For definite!!
and if those stupid men are there again, chances are they did the same at the Toploader tribute band the week before, and they just think they're funny. So I shall move (maybe) a bit closer to the stage and shout at them |

Isaac, I didn't mean I was actually going anywhere, just that next time Andy knows they're playing, to let us know reallllly early, then I can get working on people to stick it in their diaries - in case we only find out a few days beforehand again - cause I don't like missing the band, I decided, after having lots of fun last Friday! |

Superduper. Maybe we can make a full FB.net posse evening of it all.
I was tempted to shout those townie guys down from the mic, but figured I'd get the living poopy kicked out of me after the show..

nah, they'd be too drunk to do that - we noticed them at the start and they seemed like they just did that. Silly young boys in their white shirts and nice trousers. silly silly boys... they were probably let out for the weekend and allowed to drink or something :) |

Haha, well doog, if we all come down on your next show, then you can shout them down, and then Mike can do some kick boxing on them, and they will always leave you alone!

ha, no chance Isaac :)
well, I dunno. There's something to be said for wearing earplugs at gigs. Whereas the music would be loud and peoples chatter non existant without them, to be stood in the middle with earplugs in, means you get to hear most peoples conversations around you. Most things people say aren't too interesting at all.
They were very uninteresting. I don't remember a lot of what they said other than it went away when we all did our special maypole style dancing (which was fun). They just chatted, and while we all talk at gigs at some point and I'm not being some old fuddy duddy saying people should be quiet, I just remember frowning at them a lot of the time, as they just seemed to want to stand at the front and talk to each other. They should have fucked off upstairs.
See, earplugs do make gig going interesting, sometimes... it also means when you hear someone on the stage, you hear everything (rather than the music drowning them out a bit) - and I can safely say, Andy hit all his notes! |

ah see, i just musta shut them out cause i hardly even noticed them talking...much.
guess i'm getting resigned to people talking and they didn't seem especially bad to me, hence my lack of notice.
or it could be that i'm going deaf.

oh no, don't go deaf, wear earplugs, honestly, when it happens, it's the single most life changing thing that you have to live with on a day to day basis.
you probably didn't hear them - it is just plain annoying wearing earplugs, because you hear everything everywhere, what people are saying, everything. You also hear the band :) sometimes... |

well since i'm deaf i can't wear earplugs cause that'll mean i'll miss out on even more of the gig sound....
yeah crappy logic.
but i have taken earplugs to several gigs, but never felt it was loud enough to warrant putting them in.
