Now the Godfather tributes will begin. He was 80 years old, and I think in bad health for awhile. He was SOOOO beautiful when he started out (rent Guys and Dolls) and then got kinda scary, but anyway... RIP.

I deleted my Brando topic(I must be going blind). Yeah, it's kind of a surprize when someone 'legendary' dies, even though death is, er, perfectly natural. He was a natural talent and really eccentric actor. |

Brando and Sinatra - that's a fun film to watch.
I'm getting old. All of the people who were legends when I was a kid are fading away. Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, ect. And it may make me sound like an old coot, but I don't think their being replaced with many entertainers of the same stature. Ahh, they probably are (Woody Allen, Paul Newman, blah, blah, blah). |

Wow, lately I've been thinking a lot about Brando and how it's nice to have a legend like him still around. And then this goes and happens. For some reason, he seemed so much older than 80. Not so much because he seemed ultra old as much as it seems he's just been around forever and ever.

I hope this means we'll be getting a bunch of Brando films on TV now, there's loads that never seem to be on which I'm dying to see. Brando was so cool, he had a real iconic thing going on.
I dunno, I sort of imagined he'd die in his garden chasing his grandson around, with some orange peel in his mouth...
Kind regards, Simon Admissions |

Let's remember old Brando, and not the movies he did in the nineties, please. I'm begging. On the Waterfront rules!

Ive not seen Brando in a great deal of his movies, but Apocolypse Now, and my favorite film of all time, The Godfather brought stunning performances for him. His role as Don Corleone is great and he played it to perfection.
I am sad this morning to hear this, but he lived to 80 years old... thats a good innings. RIP Marlon.
