Also mix up metaphors all the time. Like: don't kick a dead horse in the mouth. Or let dead dogs lie. I forget them usually until it happens, then I typically embarass myself with a real doozy. I let people (and myself) believe that it's on purpose, but actually I think I'm metaphorically dyslexic.
