Right now is the longest peroid of time where ive actually been single. (6 months).
Ok, ive had a few guys here and there each month, but i mean, not in a 'real' relationship.
I've been in long term relationships since i was 12 years old, basically with no breaks longer than around 2 - 4 weeks.
So ive never really known what its like to be single.
And oh my, i have had the best 6 months of my life. Its been fabulous. Im finally feeling like an 18 year old rather than a 30 year old. Ive had so much fun, and nbot having to think about any one else but ME, not feel guilty for anything I do, and have as many guys as i want!
I am not going to let myself get in to another relationship for a long time. im enjoying my self to much, and i feel good. for once.
So, who else is single? Do you enjoy it? Who isnt? I know alot of you on here are married, do you miss being single?
I bet you never thought your movie would turn out this way You crossed the other way, youd hope i wouldnt see you, you say youre doing fine, but thats not what it looks like, your undercovers on...

no i don't miss being single at all. i love just hanging out with my wife...she's also my best friend and we just so much fun hanging out.
but then it's slightly different for me here in London cause i haven't got many friends over here, so there's not much of an alternative.
but i've had it both ways - a couple of years ago, before we were married, my wife lived in London for 8 months while i remained in NZ, and because she was living in East Ham (= shithole), i would only hear from her every few weeks.......suffice to say we both prefer it this way.

I am single and have been for YEARS. I like it most of the time, although sometimes a warm body to hang out with can be GREAT too. I was pretty burned by the last boy, so I needed a big break. Then some other stuff happened and I had a two year crush, blah blah blah. Anyway, I think it is really good to be by yourself and learn what YOU like and who you like, etc. If you aren't comfortable being alone, I think it is hard to really be good with someone else - if that makes sense.
Think it is great that your wife is your best friend, benji. That is what we should all hope for.

Yeah, I always aim for my partners to be my best firends. I dont thinkit really works other wise - but also i need my space alot, so having my own friends and stuff is good too. Like my last relationship was sorta long distnace, and that was great, cos i got too see him at weekends or whatever, but didnt have to have them hanging about all during the weeks etc.
But yeah, I agree ramona, its nice to have someone every known again, who you actually care about, but thats not something i really miss. As i said, theres a few guys here and there, so its not like im celebate or anythiing, just very uncommitted. heh.

I'm single and I love it! I like the freedom, as well as the peace of mind of being single. I'm funny and quite often told I'm hot, or at least damn cute. I have my shit together (couple of homes and a great career). I really wouldn't mind meeting the right person. A best friend though, I've decided I won't settle for less than that. Other than that, I just enjoy the freedom of being single. I almost think I'm too set in my single ways, to be in a relationship.

I don't really hate being single but I definately don't prefer it at all to being in a relationship. I guess I don't really take advantage of being single like some people because I feel guilty when I have flings with girls or whatever and end up beating myself up over it. I just like being committed I guess.

I'm single too (surprise surprise). I've not really done proper relationships, for whatever reason, so I don't have alot to compare it to.
I'd like the chance though...

After you've been married long enough it's a lot like being single. You're vaguely aware of someone else living in your house, but that's about the only difference.

Here's a very true cliche that is perfect for this topic.
The grass is always greener.
I am single and have been for almost all my life. I don't like it at all. I have my own space even when I am in a relationship so that is nothing unique. I am not one of those sleazy lads who hits on girls every time he goes out. I don't have the self confidence to do it even if I wanted to. Too scared of rejection. So casual sex is non-too-frequent, though not too rare considering I never chat to girls I don't know (unless I'm introduced). Girls have it too easy, they don't even have to try.
Then again, sex in relationships is not as exciting as when you are single anyway IMO, so it's not the sex I miss, not at all.
Aah, I'm waffling.
Like I said, the grass is always greener.

I mean if that's all you are looking for when you are out, you have a much better chance as a woman.
Besides it's also the case in general, a man willl show his interest (sexual or not) a lot more than a woman. Basically, even today men are still expected to make the first move.

Heh....poor Monkey...I think I understand what you mean..For some women you just think "Why bother. They know that they're in control of everything, they could blatantly not give a shit about anything else (Me)..." ? Not sure, actually, heh, just a guess.

Men are shallow and women are overly complex. I have just solved life's great mystery.

i kid, i kid. i'm a hopeless romantic actually.
only, my version of romance is a little different than most peoples. most people are looking for "the one".. that special someone who they will spend the rest of their life with. a soul-mate etc..
i'm actually looking for "the two" .. and instead of a lifelong bond, i'm thinking more in terms of one night (or maybe a 3-day weekend) |

Next week I will tell you I love my wife more than anything else in the world and I don't know what I would do without her.
It all depends on how the sex life is going, of course. I'm a man.
