I listened to a radio show on XFM last Saturday. Two guys called Adam & Joe have a show on there. Anyway, Adam was saying on the show that he is friends with Charles Thompson, and that as a result was able to get a ticket for the show at Brixton Academy on the Saturday night. (Adam is the guy on the "Gouge" documentary who says that he really loves "La La Love You", and then sings it)
Adam said that the show was absolutely amazing, and that it was possibly the best ever gig he's ever been to. He says he went backstage and chatted to Charles. Apparently, Charles was saying that he was having a really good time on the tour and that the Pixies are DEFINITELY going to get back into the studio to record some new stuff, and that Tom Waites is going to produce it.
I just thought I'd pass on that info to you guys out there.
Also Adam & Joe have a video coming out in August and apparently the video for "Dog Gone" by Frank Black will be on it. (Adam & Joe used to have a TV show some years ago, so I assume that this is what they are releasing) |

Hmmm - I'd really like believe the Tom Waits part, but Adam and Charles are both notorious windup merchants in their own special ways, so we shall see.
Anyone remember Adam and Joe doing Record Police on Frank on their show years ago - quality...

i think there is about as much chance of tom waits producing a new record as there is of them covering smells like teen spirit.

tom waits seems like someone who would be into producing that record
did you know that tom waits doesn't like to go to holland anymore
because last time he toured here he was arrested by police officers who thought he was a drifter/homeless guy

I was just thinking how sick it would be if the pixies stay together and make 4 cds over the next 5 years! :) I wonder if they'll put any b-sides as songs like maybe Manta Ray or Baileys Walk

| I also thought it was unlikely that Les Claypool would be on a Tom Waits album (or even that Tom Waits would do duets with Crystal Gayle <<<<who, by the way is the most beautiful lady in the world)....go figure. |

You guys are making me cry again. Damn it I'm so happy. Tom Waits!! If you're lieing JB, if you're lieing, if you're lieing to us all I'm going to hunt you down and fucking kill you slowly with a small knife and a lighter. No offense but I'll be pretty pissed that I got my hopes up. But anyway, this is the best news I've heard in a long time aside the fact I might play The House of Blues. I want to open for the Pixies... now back to the crying.
