Not wanting to blow my own trumpet or anything, travelling across the globe to see possibly the best band on the planet (I guess I cheated a little as I hadn't been home for a year, so it was an opportunity to see my friends and family as well as Pixies)... How far have some of you travelled to watch this tour??
Just the good ole boys, never meaning no harm,

I'm going several hundred miles. Nothing extraordinary, but still...the furthest I've ever gone to see a band perform.

I guess several hundred miles in the US is nothing for you guys (with the US being so huge).... in the UK an hour drive is considered far away. I think whilst living in the UK, the furthest gig I travelled to was probably U2 at Slaine Castle, Dublin back in August 2001. I'd also regularly go and see bands in London (about 100 miles from my hometown).
In fact, if and when Pixies tour again (whilst promoting their new album I hope) then I'll travel back to the UK to see them. Will also do it to see the Catholics once again.

| I traveled from Northern Michigan to Southern California (approx. 2500 miles) to see them perform at the secret show in Pomona (Glass House) as well as the Coachella Festival. |

I travelled from Mexico City to the Coachella Festival, I don't know how much it is in miles, but it was four hours by plane (to LA) then 4 more by car (due to the terrible traffic the day before). But it was worth it.
It was funny, almost all the people in the plane was doing the same thing. So a lot of mexican people went there, some for Radiohead, some for The Cure, but almost everbody wanted to see The Pixies, of course. |

I'm still on the road right now. Travelled from South Africa to London for one Brixton show. Tomorrow morning I'm leaving for France for one more show before heading back by the end of the week. Well worth it.

I only travelled from the west midlands to london to see them, I am however planning a trip from the uk to the states purely to see mary prankster.

I had to book two days off work and will miss the England-France game after a 1h30 flight from Liverpool to see the gig in Paris tomorrow...

Flew from Westchester NY to Saskatoon (2/3 of the way across the continent) with two teenage kids. We spent about $2500 to see one show. Worth it.

It´s not to much, but I drove 40 Km then I took a train to Lisbon, about 320 Km. And had to stay the hole night awake and listening to the others bands playing to have train to come back in the morning!

well you could argue that i flew from NZ to the UK to see them, but the fact was that i have been over here for 9 months anyways....
poor argument, i know.
in the end i had to take a 20 minute bus ride.
it was tough.

| Flew from San Francisco to Liverpool last year for the Catholics. This year it was flying from Oakland to Spokane/Boise and then driving to Davis/Indio, so not enough miles to impress. |

I'm from Wisconsin, USA. Somehow, I am going to their show in Slovenia believe it or not. I'm actually going to be in Germany the whole summer, so officially I am only traveling 400km or so.
And I don't even have a ticket for the show :P |

another south african here, flying to the US later this year to catch them. still not sure where/when, a friend in Florida is organinsg tix to a few shows, and i'll book my flights once i have confirmation on those.

Hi racerza, I'm from Pretoria. You definitely have to make some plans to go see The Pixies, as many times as possible. I saw another guy with a Pixies T-shirt on the plane back home, I'm sure there were quite a few who travelled to Europe for the shows.
Now, if only The Pixies would come to us!
