I travelled from the UK for this show and it was fantastic - I've been going to gigs since I was 15 (nearly 30 years - jeez!) and this was right up there believe me.
I have to say that the venue itself and the acoustics of 'Le Zenith' were great - much better than most of the sheds and converted cinemas we have over here. The sound quality was great.
The atmosphere was excellent and the band seemed to be enjoying themselves - there was a lot of chat between Kim and Frank throughout.
I don't know if they did the same at Brixton or elsewhere but at the end of the set (Vamos) they just stood for about 2-3 minutes while all hell was breaking loose waving and and watching the crowd.
Then instead of going off seemed to have a quick chat and played 'Into The White' before finally leaving the stage and coming back again for the 3 song final encore.
It was bloody hot mind - Kim even mentioned it during the show - afterwards most of the guys in the Gents were throwing bottles and cups of water over their heads to cool down.
As for Mogwai - a boring meandering dirge I'm afraid - and the 'French team to beat the English for us Scots' routine was a bit pointless!
in brixton they stood at the front of the stage after the main set (even took photos of the crowd on the 1st night) for a while soaking up the deserved applause, but they didnt stay on to play the next song like they did at the zenith.
