Just picked up the DVD, absolutely stellar. In one section of the DVD, I believe it was "On the Road", Charles is playing the harmonica up to a mic in what looks like, IIRC, a recording studio. Does anyone know if he was just messing around, or if a harmonica was actually used in any songs? Could this have been for the "Born in Chicago" cover? |

I say messing around, but I'm not sure don't know when Born in chicago was recorded but I doubt it was 1989 (when on the road was filmed)

Why? Rubaiyat (Elektra comp w/ "Born in Chicago") was released in '90. They could've done it in late '89. "Winterlong" was recorded and released in '89 on a Neil Young tribute album, an entire year before the Pixies released it themselves on an E.P..
Who knows, maybe he was practicing for "Whatever Happened to Pong?"...
