sorry it's not funny but I promise that I love your land I 'm a fan of the azteque ;and I think that frank black love your land too ,cause he spoke about mexico in song ...maybe you must write a petition with a lot of signature and maybe ... but the solution i think is that 7000 person buy the pixies dvd and cd at mexico but good luke ...you can try

gracias por la informacion,,,, i didn't expect to bother you writing the topic in diferent places... but i really love pixies and i really wanted to know about tours in mexico..
I know a lot of people in mexico who love pixies.. so i think it was important to ask for some imformation about pixies because i don't have nor the papers (passport,etc) neither the money to go abroad mexico to see them to listen their music.. ...greetings from mexico... and i'll see pixies here

Hi,
It's almost a fact that they're coming to México City, but I'm not sure about the date, I checked out in Ticketmaster and OCESA (the mexican organization that organise this concerts) and there are no news about The Pixies.
The Palacio de los Deportes is probably the worst place for a Rock concert in México, The acustics are terrible, and I prefer the Pixies in a smaller venue, this place is for 20 000 people, the people in the upper seats hardly see a thing.
I really hope they change the venue.
I saw The Pixies at Coachella, they're fucking great!

A friend of mine told me that in a radio station the guy announced Pixies were going to be here by October 22th, but is it true ?

the worst place for a concet is el salon el rayo, pearl jam were in el palacio de los deportes and i don't know anyone who have a complain about the sound.
by the way i'm so happy with this pixies pilgrims coming to mexico

Maybe the best place for a Pixies show is The Metropolitan Theatre, a comfortable place in the heart of Mexico City, I was in a Judas Priest show and the sound was amazing. Another great place is "El Salon 21" but smaller than the Metro. Just my opinion.

the bad thing with these places is the space, they're so small and lots of pepole will be very pissed if they don't get a pixies ticket.

Yeah, I saw Lou Reed at the Metropolitan and the venue is nice. But as you said, it's quite small. I wonder if the Pixies will fill the Palacio de los Deportes though.

I consider "El Circo Volador" a proper place for a Pixies show. This place is for 5000 people aprox., with no seats, so everybody can dance, jump and slam as much as they like.
Tlane with freedom? with "Toque de queda". No way.
Sorry for the international people reading this, it is a local discussion.
I think Kim is expecting the mexican audience after her success with The Breeders in Salon XXI, she was amazed. |

Hi guys.
I was on the Primal Fear's show this Monday at "The Flying Circus" (great show by the way) and I thought the same as Jorge, but if they's do it there, they'd need to do three or four gigs for a band like Pixies. Nightwish is coming in December and they will play twice, so Pixies could fill four or even five dates easily 
JMHO.

For all mexican fans,
Now it's official, the OCESA page confirms the Pixies concert on October 22th, with no more informetion at this time.
Still no tickets on ticketmaster, but a friend with good contacts told me that the tickets will be about $350 pesos ($30 usd) general, there will be no seats. So it sounds good even for El Palacio de los Deportes. |

Ocesa has removed the info they put in the link, I’m really really scared.
The pixiesmusic.com tourdates is still showing the date for Mexico City though.
I hope its only a change of date…..

| saludos desde argentina, tienen suerte de que tocarán en su país, acá estuvieron muy cerca, en brasil, pero por razones laborales no pude ir, sigo esperando que un productor argentino los traiga, tengo entendido que hubo tratativas para traerlos pero no pudo ser, de todos modos si no siguen tocando espero ver a frank black en cualquier lugar del mundo, en el 2003 vinieron las breeders, ojalá se repita. pregunta ¿porque escriben en inglés si ustedes son mexicanos? chau. |
