Which one? Mine is Trompe le Monde.
EDIT: BTW, the primary purpose of this is to determine which album has the largest number of uber-fans; I will be performing a vote-count once a week or two has passed. Therefore, I encourage anyone whose absolute fave album is a Pixies album to at least chime in with a quickie vote. Thanks, and keep the comments rolling in. :) |

If I had to pick an album that affected me more than any other, there would probably be about 15 or 20 ranked above the Pixies. Nothing against the Pixies, but my 'formative' years with music were some five to eight years before their first record. I would probably rank Teenager of the Year above any Pixies record, as well. |

Don't make me pick. It's a threeway tie between my favourite bands. But the one that is most "me" is the pixies, for sure. I can't pick a favourite pixies CD either.
To be honest every CD I own by all three of my favourite bands are tied for number one. |

No (that would be XTC's Skylarking), but the Pixies were a very consistent band in terms of quality, and most, if not all, of their albums would probably make it to a list of my favorite albums. I would rank Teenager of the Year and Dog in the Sand higher than any individual Pixies album, though. My favorite Pixies album is Bossanova, followed by Trompe Le Monde, Doolittle, and Surfer Rosa.

Yes. Doolittle. I tried to really think about this, to make sure I was being honest, but I can't think of an album I like better. |

My Favourite albums of all time are:
1. Jethro Tull- Aqualung 2. Pixies- Doolittle 3. Red Hot Chili Peppers- Blood Sugar Sex Magik 4. Neil Young- Harvest 5. System Of A Down- Toxicity
I like these albums, not because they contain my favourite songs, which few of them do, but because they put me through an experience, listening to them from front to back.
People say that 'Silver' stops Doolittle from being perfect, but i think that it is an essential part of that Doolittle experience, like a build up, before the album explodes into its finale that is 'Gouge Away'.
But all the Pixies albums are in my top 20.

Oh yes, a three way battle between 'Boassnova', 'Trompe' and 'Doolittle'.
Also in contest would be 'Blue' by Joni Mitchell and virtually any Seventies Bowie album.

I'm not sure if I need a flame suit for this, but here goes. When I heard the blue album by Weezer, especially the songs that were released, I thought it was a total Pixies ripoff. I am suprised to see so many Pixies fans are also fans of Weezer.
I always thought that Weezer was for slightly younger people who weren't around to hear the Pixies. Of course my opinion of them has lightened considerably ever since I saw that music video they did with the Muppets.

For me Pixies stand head and shoulders above anything else I've ever heard.
FB solo would be joint second fav along with Bowie, J&MC, Specials, Bob Marley, Boo Radleys, The Smiths, XTC, Beatles, Talking Heads, Public Enemy, Elliot Smith to name a few ... |

I have a very difficult time deciding what my favorite album of all time is. I like music from most genres and like most people, go through phases where I enjoy some music more than others. To echo Sprite's comment, one of my favorite albums of all time is
Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet
But how can you compare this album to one by the Pixies? Apples and oranges. I would say that if I was told I had to throw away all my music and could only listen to 50 albums for the rest of my life, I would keep all 4 full-length Pixies albums. Along with a couple from Frank Black, of course!

Listen to Pinkerton that album is great of course they are influenced by the pixies but not like Bush or something weezer is unmistakely more pop than the pixies en more beach boys than the pixies I mean they usually don't go lower then 3 layers of vocals in the verses and stuff I love Pinkteron and Blue the albums after that were slightly irritating but Weezer is still one of my favourite bands don't consider them a ripp off they aren't even grunge of so they became famous because they were one of the first bands after the grunge hype but they stil rocked but more in an indiepop way

Doolittle...that album introduced me to the Pixies and more broadly to indie/alternative rock. Won't say that is my fav album of all times but it's definitely in the top 5 of the albums that changed my perception of music....

Its Come on Pilgrim! When I first listen to it, nobody knew who the Pixies where! I was only 16 years old and since that day I never had the same felling again with other band! This was 15 years ago!

Yes putting this in order would be difficult so just a top ten though theres quite a few others that should be on here.
Pixies-Doolittle. Pixies-Surfer Rosa. They Might Be Giants-John Henry. Beatles-its hard to pick one album so a greatest hits of some sort, 27 maybe. Smashing Pumpkins-Adore. Smashing Pumpkins-Siamese Dream. Frank Black-Frank Black. Static-X-Wisconsin Death Trip. Radiohead-Ok Computer. |

No.
Like Jim said, Pet Sounds prevents any contest.
But if Pet Sounds could somehow be excluded (seeing as though there are other genius albums out there despite it not being possible to compare much to Pet Sounds), I'd probably have a FRANK BLACK album (or Radiohead's KID A or OK COMPUTER) before any Pixies album. |

I cannot understand a thing. If it's a Frank's forum and a Pixies discussion section, why everybody seem to rank other records above their ones? Perhaps there isn't Pixies fans in the way I think the word "Fan" means. It would be nice.
P.S.: I don't want to bother someone, but I think "Pet Sounds" is overrated.
