I am reading the new issue of Entertainment Weekly and posting here. My life is SO exciting. I did go out LAST NIGHT though, so does that make me slightly more cool?

New Q:
What is the best present you ever got? And who was it from?

It would probably be a "G-shock" digital watch from my cousin when I was 7. I was so amazed that I could hide under the covers and still see the time! I had a blast with that watch...

Question:

What time in the morning do you usually get up? On a work day.

I think so, to a certain extent. I mean sometimes Frank sings the blues. Not like Huddie does though...

Do you/Did you kiss your parents goodnight?

Not generally. But now sometimes when I am with my mom for Christmas or something, I will kiss her goodnight. I always had to kiss my grandparents goodnight when visiting.

Q: Are there any summer movies you are looking forward to seeing? If so, what?

No. I've bought a couple scratch off lottery tickets, but that's it. Won a couple dollars once.

What kind of deodorant do you use?

Old Spice High Endurance - Fresh scent. I bought a 5 pack from Costco about a year ago...I just finished a bar that I had prior to that (I think it was buy one get one and i had 2, i just finished the second)...I marked down the date I opened this pack, just to see how long it takes me to go through all 5. I'm guessing, at this rate, about 2 years or so.

What kind of calendar do you have? (what's the theme?)

No. I am codependant. Also I have 4 cats, makes it hard to move. I like where I am, being so close to loved ones, but I don't liek still living with another person. I want something close to my dreamhouse, or at least to live with a really good friend, or a lover, you know, if one were to happen to come passed my way...

What did you do tonight?

Friday night? I think I answered that already but I am here again. I read magazines and my book and posted here. I lead a THRILLING life! But I was out until 1 AM on Thursday, so it's all relative I suppose.

What are you doing tonight? (Saturday)

I am on call for the anaesthetic practice which I'm part of. I'm sitting at home waiting for a call to go work. I have to be available for work till Monday. This week-end sucks!

Are you Northern Hemisphere folk enjoying the summer? Over here 'tis cold and dark.

Also, you're lying. Its not cold there.

I just washed my phone. Whats the stupidest thing you've ever done?

No, I'm not lying Simon. It is 18 deg Celcius inside my house right now. I'm cold. On Friday I'm flying up to the summer though.

Ag, the Simpsons for sure.

I was just kidding Wilhelm, but your winters clearly aren't along the same lines as ours...

When you last went food shopping, did you buy anything interesting?

Our winters seem like a cool summer to some Europeans. Your brother will be pleasantly surprised if this is his first winter in Vaalwater.

(He complained of the cold the other day, but I think he's spoilt: his definition of cold is having to replace shorts with trousers in the evening.

You've been to Vaalwater right? There's not a lot there, but it seems like a nice little town. We went and did the sights: the curio shop, the Big 5 diner, and the Spar. We got a postcard a while back, and they actually put the Spar on that, its bizarre.

I've never thought about this. Um... maybe George Dubya. It would be surreal but enlightening I think.

What was the last pair of shoes you bought? (just home from shoe shopping myself!)

It seems like I can never find *just* the right pair of shoes anymore. They're either too blocky or too stiletto-ey (is that a word?), and they are never comfortable. I think my arch is in a different place than most shoes accomodate for, and there are never shoes left in my size (5 to 7 US, depending on the style). I love shoes, but I hate shopping. Oops, that was a bit of a rant.

A- The last pair of shoes I got was some gardening shoes, but one of the last few pairs that I liked were some strappy red high heel sandals with white stitching. Those are fun -now to actually get all the chores done and have a chance to wear them somewhere!

Q- Are you active in any causes, charites, grass roots movements, or the like? What made you decide to get involved?

Yes.

Industrial Workers of the World

American Federation of Government Employees

Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula

Peninsula Peace Education Center (Not updated very often!)

Hampton Roads Vegetarian Community (Also out-of-date!)

Why?

Dunno. Benefits me. Benefits my fellow workers. Benefits total strangers.

Do you research the products you buy? Do you just go for the cheapest thing on the shelf?

Mostly cheapest things, but then I am skint as a mint at the mo. I'd like to be a bit more responsible: my sister has a book called (I think) the Good Shopping Guide which details the ethics behind each of the major products you'd buy, from each brand etc. Lots of red marks against Nestle, for example.

What was the last dish you cooked?

I had to look to an authority (http://ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/plurals.htm#collective_nouns; see the section on collective nouns) on this one. I think the answer is either one, or perhaps the first is preferred. With more context it matters: There was a lot of people in the bar. There were a lot of people ordering drinks.
