ROBBERY UNDER ARMS. The following mind-boggling attempt at a crime spree in Washington USA appeared to be the robber's first (and last), due to his lack of a previous record of violence, and his terminally stupid choices:

1. His target was H&J Leather & Firearms, A gun shop specialising in handguns.
2. The shop was full of customers - firearms customers.
3. To enter the shop, the robber had to step around a marked police patrol car parked at the front door.
4. A uniformed officer was standing at the counter, having coffee before work.

Upon seeing the officer, the would-be robber announced a hold-up, and fired a few wild shots from a .22 target pistol. The officer and a clerk promptly returned fire, the police officer with a 9mm Glock 17, the clerk with a .50 Desert Eagle, assisted by several customers who also drew their guns, several of whom also fired, The robber was pronounced dead at the scene by Paramedics.
Crime scene investigators located 47 expended cartridge cases in the shop. The subsequent autopsy revealed 23 gunshot wounds. Ballistics identified rounds from 7 different weapons. No one else was hurt in the exchange of fire.

What's the most stupid thing you've ever done?

I'm sure I've done more dangerous things, but what immediately comes to mind is when I was a kid and I ran on the rather precarious ledges of Ausable Chasm in New York. At least my mom says that was dangerous. I wouldn't be surprised if she was exaggerating somewhat.

What's the ugliest place you've ever been?

I lie in bed pretending to be asleep so that I can have a couple of moments peace before the cats realise I'm awake.

Hey? what's with the sneaky editing?

Do you like it when bands smash up their equipment on stage?

Last year. There's a spot in the Yorkshire Dales that is not very well known - right on a river bank and you can actually make fires (a rare thing in the UK) which is in fact for me the most important thing about camping - there is no way in hell I'm cooking on a pissy little gas fire. I miss camping in a hot climate though. I used to just camp under a mosquito net in SA - wake up first thing in the morning with the sun and go for a first thing in the morning skinny dip in water so cold you lose your breath.

Where is your favourite campsite?

Somewhere in West Virginia, circa 1986. Two week hiking trip with my summer camp. It was in a clearing in the mountains, all the lightning bugs were in sync, on a full moon night. Blueberry bushes all around. Best breakfast ever of instant grits, wild blueberries and squeeze butter. Yeah I know it sounds nasty, but it was while sitting on a ledge watching the sunrise make a rainbow in the fog settled in the valleys.

I miss camping so much.

What was the last show you went to (music) and did you get up close/move around/dance/stand still etc.? Were people talking and/or annoying you? Are you short? Did the tallest person in the building stand in front of you?

ok, you can skip some of those if you need to. heheh

edit: damn, messed up a bit timewise but I guess it still works for your question floop.

(food tastes so much better when you're camping)

the last show i saw wad Dios (local LA band).. me and my friend actually hung more in the back, near the mixing board. he claims that that is the best spot soundwise.. i wasn't feeling the need to be in the very front that night. plus, we were in closer proximity to the bar. i'm not short. not tall but not short.

favorite style of pasta?

Last show. The Frames.

Didn't get up close. And unfortunatley there was a big group of drunk guys and gals who just wouldn't shut up fairly close to us. It really ruined the experience. Yep....I am short.

OOps forgot the question:

What was the first concert you ever went to (hope this hasn't already been asked)?

I am tall so no problem. Except when in Sweden where I am not that tall actually.

Do you think arrogance is sexy?

I have no idea what instant grits or squeeze butter is but I want some 'cos they sound brilliant.

Last show was ISIS which I think I've mentioned a couple of times here. Best gig I've seen this year. The guitarist from Isis watched the support band Jesu with me, which was nice of him to do. Isis themselves were amazing - I was about 4 rows from the front, I went on my own but was next to some really sweet students from Leeds (hardly any other women at the show) who I amused with my antics. I'm not too short, not too tall and had a view of all that I needed to see (and let one of the shorter student boys stand in front of me so that he could see). It was far too loud and they were far too amazing for anyone to talk over them (thank goodness for earplugs).

Where in the world would you like to camp?

And like that I managed to screw up the whole sequence.

I enjoy staying in a hotel tremendously...if it's a high-end
hotel, especially the boutique ones that popped up all over
lower manhattan like mushrooms about 10 years ago. I have
favorite hotels in different parts of the world, which I
favor for specific things.I don't travel much these days
but I still make it to my all-time fave every few weeks. It
has a heated rooftop pool where I love to swim, especially in the
winter, the worse the weather, the better. (Great question!)

Have you ever travelled a long distance in a boat?

No, the furthest was across the English Channel, Dover-Calais.

How about flight? What's the longest flight you've taken, and did you deal with it well?

Probably Amman, Jordan to JFK, non-stop. Plenty of water,
fruit, sleep.

Have you ever attended a funeral?

Hardback for books you adore; paperback for books
you can trash, say at the beach.

Do you remember to apply sunscreen in sunny weather?

Yes - though I suspect the damage of growing up in a hot climate straight under a big fat hole in the ozone has already done untold damage.

How quickly do you tan - if at all?

I turn red pretty quickly. What bugs me is that I lose my sun tan in 3-4 days, even if I spend a whole month at the beach you won't notice anything very quickly.

How many people (approximately) have seen your bare butt?

Far too many. I used to work as an artists model when I was at art school, posed for many arty nude shots for photographer friends, didn't own a swimming costume for 3 years (again, I blame the hippies).

Have you ever been to a nudist beach?

No but my band had a gig at an orgy on Saturday. It went well, and towards the end of it found a room with our saxophonist sitting on a bed playing Charlie Parker songs with couples fucking around him, it was like something from a Milan Kundera book.

What song(s) would you perform at such a party?

I'd say the Wide Eyes Shut soundtrack. Or Songs About Fucking.

Should I go back to the office party and have another glass of champagne or go back home now?

More champagne, then home a little tipsier. It will make your wife happy.

Shouldn't "champagne" be capitalized?
