This is how I know karma has somehow turned on me. I used to find money...$5, $10 in parking lots...loonies in the sand. Now I'm fuckin LOSING IT! I can't afford to be losing money(as I'm sure no one can) I can barely support my habits as it IS! $20 FREAKIN dollars!!! It probably slipped outta my pocket while I was exiting the bus...to busy listening to Mr. Waits than to check if mysterious currency was floating out of my back pocket...either by itself or by someones grubby hand. And the two ditz's that were sitting behind me probably got it. FUCK!

If you lose something, you don't know who will get it; probably some rich bastard. At least if it is stolen you know it is going to someone who really needs it. Maybe--it could be some rich bastard's spoiled kid, I guess. |

About 2 and a half years ago I had just received my bonus from the job I was working at the time. And it was a decent bonus. I hadn't fully realized the miracle of debit at the time and had $95 or so in my wallet since I had planned on making some purchases. Well, I left my apartment to go grab some fast food (my first mistake) and I had a habit of setting my wallet on my lap after paying for the food at the drive thru since it's hard to get it back into my back pocket afterwards. So I went back to my complex, grabbed my bag of fast food, got out, and went up to my apartment. After eating, I passed out for the night. I woke up the next morning and had some things to do, so when I go to get my wallet, I can't find it. And I search and search. Then it occurs to me that it had probably still been on my lap when I got out of my car, so I went down to the parking lot in hopes of finding it. No luck. It wasn't anywhere to be found. So I had to go through the whole process of getting a new ATM/debit card and license. Fuck! I even posted a sign in my complex about the lost wallet. Hell, at that point, I didn't even care about the $95, I just wanted my fuckin' wallet and all the shit in in it back. Goddamnit. I shouldn't think about that. It pisses me off.

I had a spell of finding money. I found £20 on the floor outside a takeaway, £10 on the floor in a takeaway and £5 on the floor in a club. All in the space of 2 weeks. Now I have zero and have to lig of my parents every day.

Scutor, if it's in a cash register, you're not supposed to take it. And holding a gun up to the cashier's head doesn't count as "finding."

Hahaha, no it was just sitting on the floor. I giant lump of cash. I was younger at the time but I picked it up surreptitiously and brought it over to my mother. We sorta just finished our string and walked out quietly. On the way out we saw some punk looking around frantically and he was also trying to get into his (or someone elses) car with a coat hanger. We figured he lost his keys too. We could have said, "hey thug, did you lose this wad of dough?" but I'm sure you see the idiocy in that. How could someone not feel a giant wad of money and keys fall out of their pocket? I guess that's what you get for wearing stupidly baggy pantaloons. I really hope that wasn't drug money cause if it was that boy's probably not breathing right now. Oh well, it was my mother's decision. It was out of my hands, honestly.

I'm surprised your mom decided to keep it...maybe...I don't know if I'm that surprised. I wonder how that affected you as a child and the rest of your life.
