If you really are anal about your audio CDs, then I would suggest using Exact Audio Copy to do all audio CD processing; including copying and ripping to wav and/or ripping to MP3. As the name implies, and without getting into a huge discussion about it, it makes EXACT copies of the master CD. This is something that most other ripping/burning apps don't do, including ECDC.
