I did a demo of Vamos earlier this year, too...I even got the explosions right! (Pump up the volume on your amp, turn the reverb all of the way up, and swing it back and forth so it hits the ground...like what Joey does in the DVD...fun stuff!)
It sounds really good, though, don't forget to use a beer can as a slide, though...and oh my god..ahahahhaha...you even did the water sipping thing. VERY NICE! |

Turn the reverb up and shake your amp around! I did it on mine at 1:51, loads of fun! And i DID use a Coke can on the "solo"!

dude, that's very very good. the vocals are great, but i feel they are a bit quiet in the mix. that's the only negative thing i have to say! |

Really great cover. If you did it with really English accents, it would sound really cool, like the Liars covering the Pixies, great stuff.

Yeah, I'm totally serious. Swing it around and hit the ground with it. Big explosions!
Hahaha! Sorry for not hearing the Coke can! hahaha |

Despite playing in a Pixies tribute band, my Black Francis STILL isn't that convincing... ah well, it's about the songs, aint it..... :/

really like it doog! ace. are they real drums? ie are you guys all playing, or are you using a machine? or are you playing the drums yourself?
me and mike (homerspet) have been meaning to contact you actually. but i'm not sure if the time is right yet. what is on the table is not much.
Is it like today? Oh, oh, oh-oh. Then there followed days with kings, empires and revolutions. blood just looks the same when you open the veins. sometimes it was faith, power or reason as the cornerstone. but the furrowed brow has never left his face. he said, how did it come to this?

Hey! That's freakin' awesome! You got the 'ol Black Francis scream down really good. That's the one thing I can't really do on some Pixies songs that I do in my band. Post some more if you get them. Cheers!
edit: yes, turn those vox up, man. you got a good voice.

Nice Doog. Very good! I wish I could've made it to the London show you guys did a while back.
It'd be great if you got some mp3s up on the 'Nimrod's Son' website, unless that has any copyright issues?
I wanna go to the moon. I wanna do this duet with Morrissey..... |

PixieSteve- i found the Black Francis Tele on ebay over here, so no hefty shipping costs for me. I got it for like 280 quid! Good deal, says I.
Bumblebee: Real drums, me playin' em. I'm not the world's best drummer, but I get the job done I guess. And I'm intrigued by this "not sure the time is right" thing..... do tell... :D
And I wont bother putting any mp3s on the Nimrod's Son site, since I recommend you listen to the Pixies, not some stoopid tribute band :)

You got a very nice sound going on there doog, where did you record?
For ten thousand years he slept, his mind feeding on the nightmares of the weak. Now he has awakened. As the night turned crimson, the fire-blade shattered and his power died. Then, the slaughter began... |

I don't know man - that Black voice is pretty dead on - the shreik especially. The chords are weird in places, but the feel is scarily spot on. I recorded a strange cover of Tame about four years ago on my four-track. A little sparse, but I think I got the idea down, and the scream at the end is......it scares my mother.
I'd really like to cover Frank's "Blast Off" - that's just about the best song he's ever written, and the chords all speak to me. |

Yup, sounds good as always Doog. I see you've gone a long way doing your backing vocals (not to say anything against Headache, but I think I detect improvement). Maybe Tim's influence? Anyway, a good sound. Especially out of the garage.
