ive seen two seating charts, one with a pit and one without a pit. the pixiesmusic.com presale had no pit tickets available. So im kinda confused, is there no pit and they extend the seated section?? ive only been to one concert there and there defintily was a pit section. If anyone can help clarify id appreciate it.

all I know is that you should refrain from getting any water on the 'tweeters' or feeding them after midnight.....BELIEVE YOU ME.

I believe there is a pit section at this show, so this seating chart should be the correct one:

Overall, the Tweeter Center is not the most intimate place to see a show, but it isn't too terrible either.

So, besides mdisanto, have any of you been to the Tweeter Center? How is it? I plan on buying tickets on Friday, and want to know if I should buy pit tickets, or should I go for seated ones. I figure pit, seeing as how I'll be closer. But how is the venue? I've heard some negative things about it, including bad sound and a lack of intimacy.

Haven't been to the venue, but I can tell you that they misadvertise the place by calling it Philly. It's really across the river in Camden, NJ.

if you have pit tickets, it isnt that impersonal. you can almost forget that there are like 100,000 people behind you cuase you end up being so close.

http://www.ticketmaster.com/seatingchart/16465/3964

notice that link is the "indoor" version of the seating chart. Im thinking that becuase its winter they close off the lawn and switch up the seating somewhat. I mean who knows, maybe pit tickets will go on sale on friday, but it seems kinda weird not to have them available presale

but anyway, i look at it this way. if thers ANY place in philly you want to see the pixies, taking into account that it cant be a small venue, then the tweeter center is the place to go. radiohead show there was great assuming you can get somewhat close. i thought the sound was fine too by the way

The entire venue, when closed off in the winter, can only seat 7,000 people. So it won't be like 17,000 people when the lawn is oopen int he summer. There is a pit, but cc.com list the seats available as Golden Cirlce, Orchestra and Loge. Golden cirlce is usually right up front, though it would make sense that the Pit would be (orchestra). I don't even know what Loge is. Go for sections in the 100. 102-103. Oh, I still thin you can get to it from the Philly side of the river.

I've been to two concerts at Tweeter - a Tom Petty and a Radiohead. I had seats inside for Petty and lawn seats for Radiohead. The seats inside are certainly no club atmosphere, but it's not a bad venue. Everyone was standing the whole time. The lawn seats were perfect for Radiohead - we just sat there and got tanked and chilled out. For this concert, it will be cold out. They have these big doors that close off the lawn portion, so it becomes much smaller.

There is a way to get over from the Philly side, and I will definately be doing that this time. Last time I parked in Jersey and it took us over an hour to exit the parking lot! It was summer, so we just continued partying, but it will be winter this time. Now granted there will be a smaller crowd (7,000 rather than 25,000) due to the lawn being closed, but still... From Philly there is the the RiverLink, which is $5 round-trip, though I'm not sure what the hours are. Bah, on second thought, maybe I'll just put up with the parking. DON'T TAKE PUBLIC TRANSIT IN CAMDEN

I think they did sell pit tickets during the presale. I got in right away and got section 102, row P5. I guess the pit is seated, not GA.

I recommend taking the $5 roundtrip ferry from Philly as long as it's operating in the winter.

First of all, what @#$% presale!!! Was it through Pixiesmusic.com? Son of a bitch, someone please tell me how I managed to get screwed this time.
As far as the Waterfront goes, things could be worse, they could have played at Corestate's or the Spectrum. I'm totally bummed that they aren't playing the Electric factory though, which would have been more intimate. A 2 night stand there would have drawn as many fans and would have made for a much better concert experience. Kind of frustrating that Chicago gets a multiple night stand at the Aragon and Philly gets one show at the largest venue I've seen yet for one of the American shows (minus the festivals obviously). Oh well, I'm still waiting for the NY and Boston dates and will keep hope alive that they play better venues.
For the record though, I've scene several concerts at The Waterfront and the sound was always good to me.
So is there a meeting spot for a preshow celebration? What? No one wants to get down in Camden?

Well, I just got my tickets. I was on there at 4:00 sharp, and still ended up in section 201. What I wouldn't give to have been at that presale or to have an American Express Gold Card. Anyway, I shouldn't complain, I'm seeing the Pixies. Now all I have to do is figure out some way to pass the time until December.

Not to be a downer, but is it just me or is this a hard show to get really excited about? I mean, the show is 7 months away and it is almost a certainty that they will announce New York Ballroom dates some time soon. Additionally, the Waterfront venue is lame in comparison to where they will play in NYC and Boston. They very well may play NY and Boston before these shows, who knows. Don't get me wrong, I still plan on going to the show. Given the circumstances though, not as exciting of a Philly vibe as one probably hoped for.

I guess I can see where you're coming from, but why shouldn't I be excited to see my favorite band? Even if they play several dates in NY that I'm lucky enough to attend, I'll be just as excited for this one. I guess part of the excitment is that its going to be my first time seeing them, ever. Also, those NY dates might be harder for me to attend. Right now, all that matters to me is that I'm seeing the Pixies. 7 months be damned, I'm gonna see them.

I'm pretty excited about it even though it's 7 months away, and I also plan to attend any NY and possibly Boston shows. The other great thing about Dec. 4 is it's a Saturday.

Is it possible the NY and Boston dates will be in 2005?

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I will be totally psyched once it gets closer but in the meantime I'm just hoping to catch them before that and at a better venue.
As far as shows in 2005, it is definitely possible, if not likely, considering they are already booking shows in December 04, as we know.
Hopefully though the NY shows are before then. I've been hoping that they will play a NY show around the Lollapalooza date. I mean, they are already going to be in town so maybe they will.
A saturday show is definitely cool, all kidding aside, I really would like to find a decent local spot to hang at before hand. Perhaps I will just bum around the city before hand.
Anyone familiar with places around The Waterfront? Besides the crack dens that is.

I logged in to ticketmaster around 2AM Friday night, while simultaneously working on a project, Needed 6 tix, and got 102 row K (middle front!). Got distracted with the work I was doing, (Deadline!) and also freaked out with the total price for 6 tix and wanted to ask my friends again if they were sure they were going.

Well, you can see where this is going--logged back in the next day--Section 203 and row W (nosebleed). DOH!!!!

My question is, assuming Tweeter's a somewhat small venue, are nosebleed seats THAT terrible there? Someone was talking about seeing Radiohead on the lawn and enjoying the show.

Its kinda funny that if you see Frank and the CATHOLICS, you can actuallt touch his shoes if you wanted to, but when hes with the pixies you need binoculars..

when I did go I had lawn tickets, and well, you can see pretty much everything alright [plus there are big screens and stuff like that] and everything sounds fine.
So I guess those seats would be alright.

That whole releasing-more-tickets-randomly thing at ticketmaster sucks.
I ended up getting my sec 102 row A ticket, but then directly afterward getting a sec 102 row W ticket for my friend [because I fucked up trying to get two]. row K would have made me happier.
