Please forgive my ignorance but does anyone know if any Frank Black songs have been WEEDified - that is specially encoded for online sale and distribution as part of the WEED music licensing and distribution network.
WEED is a new initiative that tries to make online file sharing not just legal but also profitable for all involved - the artists, the distributors and the file-sharers.
Check it out at weedshare.com [ http://www.weedshare.com/ ].
I’ve looked over a few of the WEED distribution sites but can’t find any Frank Black so if anyone has any WEEDified Frank please let me know.
Thanks.
Peace, Love and Thud.
Kenny-Sue.

I wonder if Frank Black uses the Bissell Easy Vac Bare Floor Vacuum. The Bissell Easy Vac Bare Floor Vacuum is an ideal tool for the small house or apartment, where storage space is at a premium. It is light weight, easy to use and manipulate. Though it is advertised as a bare floor vacuum, it also cleans carpets. While the modest motor has not got the pull of a power vacuum, it is just right for the quick pick-up. The innovative design, using a flexible hose allows for the usage of several handy attachments for hard to reach places like chairs and sofas and corners. The advantage of having no cleaner bag to replace, saves storing extra bags and the expense involved. cleaning is as easy as a dust buster, which it can function as with a quick disconnect motion. The price, at $59 dollars list, is a bargain, since it seems to be available at a discount from that.
You should check them out at http://www.bissell.com.
So as a fellow Frank Black fan, I am very curious to know if he uses the Bissell Easy Vac Bare Floor Vacuum.

It could be considered such if Kenny-Sue wasn't a long time member/quasi-lurker (including contributing to both tribute albums) and/or had any way to profit from this. I read it at first and thought the same thing, till I checked the link and the poster.
Aside from the fact that I don't like the name (I really wish that music didn't have to be tied in with drugs all over the place, much less use drug references as a 'cool' way of selling a new standard), the idea is pretty interesting. Pyramid-type schemes make me skeptical, but the fact that it embraces sharing and encourages it by paying content providers as well as the artist is certainly a better idea than suing potential customers.

Sorry Kenny-Sue. Just having a little fun at your expense. The tone just seemed so much like an advertisement. Maybe you have a future in marketing.
Anyway, no offense intended. |

Heh heh, I didn't even see your Bissel post, mucho hilario. If FB isn't using Bissel, he should be.
To be fair, KS' post does sound a LOT like an advert and fooled me for a second too.

Not a future in marketing just a past.
And no offence taken. I wouldn't know what to do with it anyway.
Peace.

Mr Frank Black sings about drugs directly and indirectly in many of his songs. From “Gouge Away” to “Horrible Day” and not forgetting “Are you Headed my Way?”.
And his whole output seems steeped in alcohol – an addictive intoxicant that is responsible for countless incidents of violence and destruction from barroom brawls to car crash carnage to domestic violence and death.
But that’s more a family tradition with Mr Black. Alcohol, I mean, not domestic violence and death.
Though, you never know.
I don’t alcohol myself. Nor do I use drugs for recreational purposes. Physician directed medicinal purposes only.
But the reason I asked is that I seem to recall hearing “Billy Radcliffe” as a download years back and “Pistolero” itself was available as a download, wasn’t it? Or did I dream it?
“So. Bay” also was downloadable if I’m not mistaken.
I just wondered as I’m about to charge up my Weed account and I wanted to send some money Mr Black’s way – but no worries.
I’ll just spend in on a few more Sir-Mix-A-Lot tracks and rare live reggae classics.
Peace. |

Yeah, I'm obviously familiar with the FB drug references and usage as well, and while it doesn't bother me, I'm just sort of tired of seeing it. I still love his stuff and I still think Weed's a cool idea, just... I think you know what I'm saying.
And for the record, I scream out the marijuana part of Gouge Away like a madman. :)

Some say "Yes!" - some say "No!"
The following link might help
Link: [ http://www.njweedman.com/kanehbosm.html ]
but then again it might not.
Personally, I don't care.
I good song is a good song even if it is true.

emusic.com does a similar thing to Weed (site not drug), and a good old chunk of FBs stuff - plus the entire Pixies cat is already online there, joyfully cheap, wonderfully legal (not that Weed isn't)

completely agree with all points made... plus which serious artist wants to be associated with a filesharer called 'weed'... they obviously put a lot of thought into that one... nice one guys... heavy night was it...
Is it like today? Oh, oh, oh-oh. Then there followed days with kings, empires and revolutions. blood just looks the same when you open the veins. sometimes it was faith, power or reason as the cornerstone. but the furrowed brow has never left his face. he said, how did it come to this?
