| Haven't got it yet, but I saw the track list and noticed a couple old titles like Playland and Dirt. Dirt is such a great song. Is the new version much different from the old? |

I don't know much about Mission of Burma so I haven't heard the originals the only stuff I really know is the stuff on their EP and the Max Ernst single, but Dirt and Playland are both sound great you should check the new album out, I got it free with some other purchases at the local record store.

| Haven't heard the new album yet, but I noticed it's been getting very enthusiastic reviews. Mission of Burma are totally great. |

Mission of Burma joins Spring Weekend lineup

Alternative rock band Mission of Burma has been added to the Spring Weekend lineup, the Brown Concert Agency announced last night. The band will open for The Roots and Soulive on Thursday, April 19.
In a press release, BCA credits Mission of Burma with creating "some of the most influential music ever to come out of the American punk scene," noting that acts such as Nirvana, R.E.M. and the Pixies have all drawn from their sound.
BCA also announced that tickets for this year's Spring Weekend are selling much faster than in years past, with over 5,000 already purchased for the two shows. There are roughly 800 tickets still available for Thursday's concert and only 200 left for the show headlined by the Flaming Lips on Saturday, April 21.

| MoB rocks, I went to their first reunion show at the Paradise, having never heard them before (my dad is a fan), and went away very impressed. Seen them a few times since then and have picked up most of their albums, one of the few bands that could leave for 20 years and come back without missing a beat. I like The Obliterati even more than OnOffOn, but both are nearly as good as their classic recordings. Let's hope if the Pixies ever make an album of new material it will be as successful as Burma's new stuff. |
