I'm fairly new here, and I realize the board may have already addressed this in an old thread (if so, then I think it must be in the archives) ....

But I was just listening to Bullet for the 50th time, and finally decided, heck, I'm gonna google it. So, I googled "Valhalla revolution bullet." And one of the top websites that came up was... an organization dedicated to creating a revolution in sci-fi literature, called Valhalla. It sounds totally up Frank's alley. They even have a page about how the founding fathers of the U.S. protected our right to bear arms because they foresaw a need to defend against alien invasion. LOL

It just sounds so right. What do you think, folks? Is this what Frank's song "Bullet" is about? You tell me...

When Frank's dad died, his brother and him went through all of his stuff to get it all together or whatever. In the attic they found a collection of guns...with a single bullet loaded in each one.

That element could have been introduced into the rest of this, but that by itself still doesn't explain the references to the sun and the moon, to this call from Valhalla and his going there, to the father's friends from outer space, and a revolution, all of which seem to match this organization and website.

I'm not saying I'm right. Just thinking out loud...

That's the story I heard when I saw Frank live/solo for DITS. I don't know when his father died, or if he is really dead because I swear the GQ article mentions hi dad, but he made it sound recent. He said he had gotten a call from his brother in regords to his father passing and he needed to come home so they could go through his fathers belongings. It was somehting they didn't know about, but they had found a huge gun collection, with a single bullet loaded in each one. Sorry to repeat what you said El Barto

"I mix twinkie's and ding-dong's all the time. In Europe, they call it a Dinkie!"

It's possible that the the song is about Frank's dad AND that Frank invented a fiction of his dad being involved in this Valhalla revolutionary group. That totally sounds like something FB would so. I'd say you're onto something, Miles.

There is a Valhalla region on Jupiter's moon Callisto, see www.solarviews.com/eng/callisto.htm

Maybe Frank was thinking about this nice area, mentioning the moon and the sun.

I love the song Bullet, as you may see from my nick name

"You take the moon, I'll take the sun"

Yeah, that sci-fi revolution thing fits pretty well. I think the song also works if you just use the obvious and original meaning of the term "Valhalla," however.

Franks' dad is deceased, and although the GQ article mentioned him, I think it was just an error and they meant his MOM not his Dad. When I heard Frank tell the story, he also said all the guns were unlicensed as well.

or perhaps GQ meant step dad - if his mom is remarried...

Valhalla is a hero's heaven in old mythology. He takes a call from Valhalla = he's dead.

Yeah. It's where Thor and those fellers hang out. There are other variations on exactly what Valhalla, historically speaking are, but I'm most familiar with Antoinette's description.

Of course you're correct about Valhalla's actual meaning, but wouldn't it be just like Frank to tie that meaning in context with the name of an astral revolutionary group?

I don't think the two possibilities are mutually exclusive.

I think the link between FB and the song "Bullet" and this website is only circumstantial. The site and the "organization" don't seem very serious or well-known.

Some conspiracy theorists like to draw the conclusion that we were once Martians because there are geological formations that share the same name as Biblical or mythological locations. Their chronological quandary must stem from them being time travellers -when you do a lot of wormhole jumping, it's so hard to make things out.

Wotan and the Walkyries are in Walhalla. The Walkyries can only be seen by heroes who are going to lose their lives on the battlefield. Then they take you to Walhalla.

BUT : all the heroes don't go to Walhalla. In fact they are shared between the one-eyed Wotan and the beautiful Freia, the goddes of love and sensuality. Those who are chosen by Freia go to Sessrumnir, where they fuck eternally with gorgeous women.

German mythology rocks!

Actually, I hadn't (apparently) read the original post quite carefully enough nor checked the link, I was operating from the assumption that Valhalla was a fictious revolutionary group in space, not a literary group.

A fictional/sci-fi revolutionary group (from some book that FB had read or something) seemed like it would be likely. An actual science fiction literature group not so likely.
