was on a long journey back home in the wee hours last night and was listenin to the dream is over gig and the pixies bbc songs off the ftp when suddenly these things hit me:
HOW F**KIN' COOL IS JOEYS' LEAD ON INTO THE WHITE. the bit where he strums the chord and flicks his switch continually (or however he does it) sounding like his six string cuts out. he does it twice and man when i heard it i had to keep rewindin the tape in awe...was smokin at the time but that just made it even more amazing in my head and through my speakers.
does anyone know..WHAT CHORD OR FEW STRINGS DOES JOEY BANG DURING THE CHORUS TO TAME. this one has always puzzled me since day one. please, anyone.
and the last thing bout leads...WHO DO YOU THINK WRITES THE LEADS. was listenin to ed is dead and few others and this ? popped into my head. frank when solo hums few of the notes that would be the lead so that makes sense that he thought up them when writin on an acoustic. but in general, who knows...anyone
(sorry bout the questions. was thinkin whether to have each one as an individual thread but didnt wanna bombard the forum with "The Tolerant. who?)
