Hey guys! Just getting the word out about my new label. Check it out. Most of our artists were inspired by The Pixies and the Subaculture God himself... Frank Black. Here's the official Press Release:
April 25, 2004, Huntington, New York - American Laundromat Records (ALR) officially launches its new label and website (www.americanlaundromatrecords.com). ALR is the brainchild of Joseph H. Spadaro, a well-regarded Long Island singer-songwriter and show promoter who has been responsible for such celebrated events as The Beat Lounge Gatherings (a night of poetry, jazz and folk music), the Blue Olive Records Singer-Songwriter Series (held at intimate venues on Long Island, NYC and Connecticut), and has performed as Frank Beane, Brumley Witherspoone III, and fronted the pinnacle 1990’s folk-wave/jangly-pop quartet, The Sewer Rats.
ALR’s mission is simple…introduce the world to bands they like. In the spirit of the early days of Sub Pop Records, Merge Records, and Twin Tone Records, American is starting with a very small and select catalog of artists and will be releasing primarily 7” vinyl singles and compilation cd’s. ALR founder and president, Joe Spadaro said the only goal of the label is to have fun and work with good people. American Laundromat Records 7” vinyl singles club is a fundamental part of the label’s philosophy to promote new bands and to protect the warm sound that only vinyl can provide. They will be working with several independent labels from all over the globe to cooperatively release and distribute 7” vinyl split singles. “This allows artists on our label to generate new fans and interest from all over the world” says ALR. American gravitates to independent American Power-Pop, Garage Folk-Punk, and Edgy Singer-Songwriters. However, they don’t rule out a Partridge Family tribute record. ALR’s impressive roster of artists include John Karma, a Sound Beach, NY singer-songwriter, The Smarties, a power-pop trio from San Francisco, 9-Fifty, a garage alterna-pop quartet from Chicago, and Wondernaut, a smart, singer-songwriter from Oklahoma City. In addition to these artists, American’s most prodigious achievement is the signing of The Atomic Hep Cats, a power-pop/garage folk-punk quartet currently residing on Long Island. The Atomic Hep Cats may well be New York’s most revered underground band and everyone is excited about the first official release on American Laundromat Records.

I suggest you check out The Bennies if you're looking for an amazing band with the world's worth of potential. They toured with FB&TC back in November 2002. They get Frank Black's "Seal of Approval". I can hit you up with some contact information if you ever come back around here.

Hey hey, Jeremy says you contacted him. Very good. I really think you should give them great consideration, especially if your artists are in the vein of the Pixies and Frank Black. They're truely amazing; they have "it." It's only a matter of getting them out on the road and getting their name out there...I know they'll be big. Definitely give them a good listen. Thanks for considering them, too.

Yeah, I did a google search and found them this morning. I'm looking forward to hearing their music. I'm at work so I didn't get their reply yet but I'll keep in touch. Thanks for the information. Have a great night.

I have plenty of recordings of songs I've written over the last 3 years just sitting around. I've been waiting to send them into a label so I can get them on some official release, this could be my opportunity.
