I am going to see them tonight and I am VERY EXCITED! They are second in my Line of Luuurve behind Frank and I have never seen them live.
EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
My life is very annoyingly dramatic right now, so I really need to hear some live music and scream/sing loudly. I can't wait!
That is all. |

And very excited you should be. They're the perfect band to sing/scream along to.
Enjoy.

Ramona, I gotta say: You're no rock n roll fun, like a party that's over before it's begun.

DIG ME OUT is one CD by them, Homer. But I also really like ONE BEAT, their most recent one.
Getting very excited by the minute...I think I need a disco nap. |

Dance Song 97. Yeah. Its good. Definate favorite.
they're playing NYC anyday now. I was debating whether to see them again and decieded aginst it, in favor of seeing patti smith three times next weekend. Romona, be sure to tell us if they play any new stuff. I think they're going into the studio soon.

yes, very strange. there was this red light behind them that you didn't notice during the gig, but obviously thru the slow shutter speed, it came rather important.
but i am really impressed by the effect.
i like it anyways.

My pictures came out much the same - but I decided to be in the balconey so I had a "full picture" view. I will try to upload one at some point. I may put one on my fotolog - today I just put up some apropoe lyrics.
Anyway, great show! The sound was a little fucked at the beginning, both Corin's mic and Carrie's guitar were extreamly loud and drowning each other out. They started with CALL THE DOCTOR, but it was kind of hard to hear anything. After that, they did some adjustements and it seemed to be better. Corin wails so much that if you don't know the words there is no chance you will be able to figure out what she is saying. I went with a good friend who is not as familiar with the songs, so at some points I was telling her the lyrics - they are just so good.
My favorite parts were O2 which was when I really got into the show and was happily screaming along. About two songs after that they played TURN IT ON, which is just such a good song. They also did WORDS AND GUITAR and instead of singing the normal - "words and guitar, I want it, words and guitar I got it" Corin sang "words and guitar YOU want it, words and guitar, WE got it". I thought that was cute.
One poor sucker kept yelling out "ONE MORE HOUR!" and I was really hoping for that too but Carrie said "we didn't practice that song" and they never played it.
Anyway, it was great. If anyone wants more details, I will be happy to comply but I don't want to go on and on and on.
Oh, and they did play at least two new songs - both of which were very good, and long, and they did little jams in the middle. When Carrie plays guitar, she kicks her legs in the air and jumps around - she seems to really love it. They all do, which is great.
Yay!

They didn't play JENNY or DANCE SONG both of which I really like. I LOOOVE the "oh, you've got the darkest eyes" part of ONE MORE HOUR. Lately that song comes on and I just start crying. I'm a mess! Anyway, I used DANCE SONG as my fotolog caption yesterday.

I saw them once a long time ago, they were very good live
It was at the Black Cat in DC in 1998 I think... I don't even know how many albums they've made since then.
They played one more hour when I saw them about an hour before their set was done.
They rock. I haven't listened to them much in the past few years and I don't know why. I only have dig me out and call the doctor... I think I'm going to put one on now.
Anyway, glad you had a good time at the show, thanks for the link , I like your fotolog and I hope you stop crying.
Peace |

they played 2 awesome shows when i saw them in Auckland, NZ. i flew up from the south island just to see them - it was worth every penny.
is still two of the best gigs i have ever seen.
so are they on a proper big tour, or just a little one?
