Me too. A small group of us are getting together at the restaurant beforehand to hang out and wait for the doors to open. I'm still trying to decide whether I'm going to fight for the barrier or just grab a good table back at the bar.
I have to confess that I'm not the hugest Pixies fan on the planet, but I've been listening to them since '88 and am really looking forward to finally get a chance to see them live. Is this going to be one of the bigger venues on the warm up tour? Capacity at the Big Easy is ~1500+.
I'm wondering what percentage of the audience will be from out of town. I know that many locals I know were grousing about their inability to get tickets. My response...you snooze, you lose. This is the freakin' Pixies for chrissikes. What were you expecting?...to simply walk up to the door before the show and buy a ticket? Sheesh. |

I can add to the enthusiasm!
I am flying out of Philadelphia tonight (Friday) and arriving in Spokane later this evening.
I am then hopping on a plane on Sunday and flying down to Boise for the show there.
And I don't even like to fly.
All of this just for the excitement of seeing the Pixies live again!

Thats about as enthusiastic as I can get while I'm still at work. I'm definately looking forward to a great show tomorrow eve. My wife and I will probably show up at the restaraunt a couple of hours early, so hopefully we'll see you there. |

I am soo fucking pumped after the edmonton and calgary show I must go again. I took a vacation day for monday so Im set to fucking rock spokane.. Im coming down bymyself sooo. I dont have a ticket I am hoping this guy that left sanjose will still have one for me! Fuck Whooooot Im gonna see the pixies again Fucking EH!!!!! |

Yes, the Big Easy has a full bar. It's all ages too though. So, when you enter the venue they will ask for ID and if you're 21+ will get a brightly colored wrist band (under 21s get a black X).
I was just talking to my buddy who writes for the Inlander (article linked to above). Sounds like the band have some pretty rigid guidelines. He said he can get a press photo pass, but that he would have to be personally escorted to the front of the stage, could snap pictures for the first three songs, and then would be escorted out of the venue. The first two bits sound like standard deals, but the 'you must then leave' clause kind of caught him by surprise.
Anyway, the place is going to be packed so make sure to get in line early. The hall is big (1500 capacity), but once it fills up traffic control is at a minimum and moving about the place becomes rather difficult. |

| If you're looking for an inexpensive motel, I'd suggest the Rodeway Inn right across the street from the Big Easy. Their phone number is 509-747-1041. They might already be booked up though. |

Hmmm...alright, we're reaching now...try the Downtowner Motel (165 S Washington St 509-838-4411) or the Tradewinds Motel (907 W 3rd Ave 509-838-2091).
Other than that I would have to say you're going to have to spring for a bit more, or make the very short drive from downtown over to the Sunset Hill area and look for a Vacancy sign. |

| The Tradewinds is closer than the Downtowner, but they're both fairly close. Downtown Spokane is not that big. The Best Western on North Division is no longer downtown (about 3+ miles away), but is still easily in short driving distance if you don't mind not being in walking distance to the venue. |

| I'm starting to get a bit excited. I'm not a big poster, but I keep up with this site. I saw Frank in Seattle last year, so I am already impressed by the man. I live in Boise, but missed out on the tickets for the show here. After a bit of apprehension on the website, I got a Spokane ticket. I'm flying to Spokane Saturday morning and staying at the westcoast Ridpath hotel. anyone know how close it is? Anyway, can't wait. |
