My choice, random order (I could probably choose other songs):

- Depeche Mode: Enjoy the silence
- Fleetwood Mac: Sweet little lies
- Vanilla Ice: Ice ice baby
- New Order: Perfect kiss
- Suzanne Vega: Luka
- Talking Heads: Burning down the house
- De La Soul: Ring ring ring
- The Cyre: Lullaby
- George Michael: Faith
- Dead Can Dance: The ubiqutous Mr Lovegroove

Umm, maybe Kylie Minogue - I Should Be So Lucky.
Bros - When Will I Be Famous
Joseph... - Any Dream Will Do
Baloo - Bare Necessities
Wet Wet Wet - Love Is All Around
Bryan Adams - Everything I Do

I'm stuck now, maybe some more later

the beach boys - i get around
the beatles - i should've known better
ccr - suzie q
elton john - take me to the pilot

i just realized this makes me look like i was raised in the 60s/70s, but i was born in 1982 - its just what my parents were listening to when i was young

Anthing by Diana Ross & the Supremes and the Frog Chorus by Paul McCartney.

The Frog Chorus is such a good song, one of his best and the video was really good, it had Rupert the bear in it and he discovers the cave with all the frogs in.

Ah, 1982, a fine vintage.

I'd probably add some Beatles as well, probably 'She Loves You'.

ooh, got one: 2 Unlimited - 'No Limit'

It's basically what they were playing on MTV between 1988 and 1991. Except Dead Can Dance (an older cousin was a fan of DCD).

Those Rick Astley songs always remind me of 7th grade.

I also specifically remember:
1. Forever Young - Rod Stewart (I remember dancing to this at a school dance - ick)
2. Fridays I'm in Love - The Cure (is that what it was called?)
3. Funky Cold Medena - Tone Loc
4. Just a Friend - Biz Markie (those two are kind of lumped together)
5. Do Me Baby - Bel Biv Devoe
6. Express Yourself - Madonna (my friends and I used to dance around and sing this at the top of our lungs)
7. Parents Just Don't Understand - DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince (heh)
8. Joy and Pain - Rob Bass
9. Here Comes the Sun - the Beatles (an actual GOOD song - amazing!)
10. I have to say New Kids on the Block are also up there. I liked them when I was 13 - I'm so ashamed.

It was surprising easy to think of all of these. I bet I could go on and on. Debbie Gibson, Banana Rama, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam. Ah, what a lovely time.

ABBA - Dancing Queen
Bee Gees - Massachusets
ELO - Don't bring me down
Uriah Heap - Lady In Black
Lots of Frank Sinatra songs - During the late seventies I had to listen to whatever my older sisters and my dad was listening too. Then during the early eighties I started listening to my own stuff:
Duran Duran - Planet Earth
Blondie - Union City Blue (I will love this one forever)
Lips Inc. - Funkytown (Nights at the rollerskating rink)
Van Halen - Jump.
Depeche Mode - Everything Counts
Bronski Beat - Smalltown Boy

During the mid-eighties The Cure, The Smiths, The Clash, The Mission(ouch), and erm not The The but Midnight Oil brought along some respectability in my teenage years.

Dunno if I can pick ten. Here goes anyway. This isn't a top ten as in 'the best ones' is it? Well mine isn't anyway. Mine is the ten that remind me the most of my childhood.

'What A Feeling' from Flashdance
'Brick In The Wall' by Pink Floyd
'Take It Easy' by The Eagles
'Eternal Flame' by The Bangles
'Sweet Little Mystery' by Wet Wet Wet
'The Right Stuff' by New Kids On The Block
'La Bamba' by Los Lobos I think???
'Altern8' by Activ8
'Pearl's A Singer' by Elkie Brooks
'Everybody Into The Place' by Prodigy

That top ten will probably change soon.

There's actually some good songs here. I am in no way defending any of my choices, by the way, I was merely following the strictures of the thread.

I had a strange childhoos...
