in the spirt of arbitrary rivalry, i'm coming forward to say that i think Spokane is going to KICK SASKATOON'S ASS!!!
i think if the two cities went head to head, in hand to hand combat (or battle royale style wrestling) there would be no contest.
look at their mascots..
Spokane's mascot: the Indian. austere, warrior-like, regal..
Saskatoon's mascot, "Saskie", a pathetic Barney-like figure who looks like it needs help standing up.

Hahahahahaa! I've never seen that mascot, but I'm assuming he's dead in place of a newer, more high-tech and virile mascot. That said, we Saskatonians are a friendly lot, and your mascot would probably be befriended before he could life a tomahawk.

I expected more from you. Instead of laughing, you should be showing disapproval for the racist manipulation of imagery on the board to show a city's mascot.
This is frustrating . . . someone posts a criticism of the Kim Deal's live performance skills, and you threaten a lock. Someone uses a photo to exploit an entire group of people based on a racial classification and you laugh along with that person. |

My problem wasn't you criticizing Kim Deal's live performance. Go back and check your facts. It has much more to do with insults hurled at other members which are obviously not funny or even in jest. Provoking fighting isn't why we're here.

So, I think I have it straight. I can't say what's true (i.e., that Kim Deal is out to lunch on stage) or pose a question about someone's coif without threat of a lock, but others can play fast and loose with racial stereotypes?
Hey, if floop's a racist, that's fine . . . plenty of people who live in the Coeur d'Alene hinterland share his views. And I don't care if he posts them . . . it's a free country and (presumably) a free discussion board. But no threat of a lock from you? Read the description accompanying the photo. You don't see anything racialist, stereotypical, or possibly inflammatory about those words? Well, obviously you don't have any familiarity with the cultures of the native inhabitants of North America. Or maybe you're from floop's school of thought. Or maybe Canadians just view "Indians" that way. I don't know . . . I thought it was much worse than anything else I've seen on this board. |

I work part-time inside a mascot suit on a prominent cruise line between Los Angeles and Acapulco, and only occasionally do I require assistance in maintaining an erect posture.
