Ha, you all are funny. Um, floop, I guess I don't want to love him b/c he is an idiot and we have been going back and forth with the same stuff for two years. He's kinda in my circle - so I need some sort of mantra which will keep me from thinking he's the bees knees. Suggestions?
I need a drink too. Lately I like vodka with cranberry juice. What is everyone else drinking? (is that chatty enough?)

That is like explaining what came first, the chicken or the egg. But to break it down, I guess he is an idiot b/c he has feelings for me too, but is too scared to "go there". It's a very long story. I just saw him today and I realized that I am moving forward IN MY HEAD while he is just in the same place and I need to just STOP IT. But how do you stop your brain? Not to mention my mother fucking heart. Blah. It's very depressing. I need some help! |

Ramona, it's Friday night. I live in California you live in Boston. Can you go to J.J.Foleys, put Amerasian blues by the Clash, on the juke box, and have a delicious Guiness (or six), for me?

I don't know what to suggest without knowing the full story.
All I can say is it's usually better to go with your heart. I trust mine more. I always feel like feelings that come from your heart are there for a reason, like fate. Thoughts from your head are just what you think other people would think or say. You convince yourself it's for the best 'cos you don't want to take the risk. But what's a life without risks?
I listened to my head once, rather than my heart. Now my heart is broken and my head knows it made a mistake.

either that or get drunk and sleep with a stranger tonight, to take your mind off things temporarily.

Em: fall in love with someone else goddammit!
Yeah, uh, I realise it's not that easy. But it is possible. It could even happen here! It did before... ;)
Good luck.
Another option would be to make him move. Maybe the board members can help with this one... Anyone got a horse's severed head handy, for starters?

Thought-provoking, Emily. I'll share my own two cents on the issue:
I think idiots aren't worth being loved. I've experienced my fair share of idiots - when I was in 8th grade, some kid borrowed five American dollars from me and never gave it back. He placed his own pleasures ahead of my need to get that money back, and he took someone on a date or something. it was an ugly situation, and I let it go because it's not worth $5 to never have to see that kid again. However, this event, more than anything else, enlightened me to the angry and bitter side of people. The idiots. The useless men. The people who never contribute anything to society; the people whose opinions are the result of pure and utter ignorance; those who treat themselves way to kindly and can never accept the fact that they made a mistake; those who refuse to take what anyone suggests into consideration; those who are blind to other opinions and narrow-minded, the crybabies who bother other people with their endless complaints about their own petty misfortunes; those who feel no compunction for the abscence of merit, kindness, respectability, responsibility, and/or modesty.
It's becuase of this that I don't want to smile. I don't want to laugh. I don't like to attend any gatherings of people for a social purpose - because the world is ugly and I'm just pissing off. Granted, I'm human. I joke. I've had my fair share of fun and games and happy freedom. So I don't try to be an angry and bitter man, but I can definitely comprehend some of it in the world.
And now, I didn't tell you this just to complain - I think, maybe is it possible that you're so happy that you don't allow the idiocy of the man to prevent you from loving him? You seem as though you thrive in the beauty and happiness of the world - I mean, all those flowers; enjoying the youth enough to have a 3-year old kid's speech as your favorite quote, laughing with the youth like that, the "HEE"s and the "Ha"s and all that...maybe, just maybe, an angrier and more bitter person doesn't fall in love with people whom they don't want to fall in love with?
OF COURSE, I DON't personally know you, and I'm open to that the evidence with which I support my claim could be biased, mis-construed, or innacurate.
And I'm not suggesting that you change your outlook on the world; I'm just thinking about it.

Except little puppies and flowers. The blossom has come out on the cherry trees here, and there's tulips and daffodils all over. The birds are singing, the squirrels are getting cheekier and Springs here! Its all good. I think I'll head over to Palmer's Green and get the 'ethnic snack special' from Safeways: 6 little Indian snacks for £1. You can choose from little lamb or veg samosas, various bhajis and some wonderful tomato pakoras. You can also get tasty Chinese and Thai snacks, but they're less good value.
By the way Em, I'm drinking Jack & Coke or Corona, cheers!

Y'all are very sweet. I appreciate ALL your advice. Nice nice nice! You are reaffirming my faith in the board!
I would only say two things - that sometimes I feel like this idiot is THE ONE which makes it a lot harder, he is very scared of being with someone and being in love, etc. And two, I agree about the FATE part of things (I try to take it with a grain of salt though) and it seems like he is back in my life more than he has been in the last two years (since this all kind of happened before). So I am left thinking "WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?" Oy.
Ice Cream, you are right. I definetly try to be a 'Glass Is Half Full Person, but sometimes it is hard. I DO think, life is short, you have to enjoy it and you have to spend it with the people you want to spend it with. Of course, this is all my HEAD again (I heard you, Homers!).

PS. Another "chatty" question; which do you prefer: land, water, or air?
Gots any tattoos? I have four and am thinking of #5.
Oh, and KING, I would have loved to do that - but my mom came into town last night, so I didn't do much but sit around with her. Did enjoy another vodka & cranberry though. Very refreshing! And soon it will be the season of margaritas!
Y'all are so nice - I put up a photo "for" yous today.

The cartoon on your fridge is absolutely spot on Ramona.
I have two tattoos and have been thinking about a third for a while. I wanted a Pixies one but couldn't think of anything good enough. I started a topic on here , looking for suggestions but nobody suggested anything that I liked enough to have for the rest of my life. Oh well.
As for your final question, well it depends really. I love swimming, I feel really comfortable in the water, but at the same time the ocean scares me as much as it fascinates me. I can't really say the air 'cos I don't spend much time in the air really. I have been on planes lots of times but I don't find it particularily thrilling. Land is what we are used to I guess, what we are the most comfortable on. But you know I think I am gonna go with water. As long as it's not the middle of the ocean then I am very comfortable and really enjoy it.
I am pisces!!!

Little puppies and flowers don't talk to me. (Both literally and metaphorically speaking) It's not easy for me to appreciate the beauty of this world. Maybe I'll feel differently by the end of today. As for the "land, water, or air" thing, I would definitely choose water. Water is, to me, the most flexible, well-rounded matter on the planet. If there were two billion people who lived at my house, the only thing I would personally serve for them is water. It wouldn't be any water, though: it'd be the most stupendous-quality, brilliant thing to have come in direct contact with the lips and throught and mouth of any man or woman or machine on this earth, imported from the finest lakes of Russia. You see, food is a tricky issue. Among two billion people, there could be vegans who will be offended by serving meat, people who don't like vegans and thus will be offended by lack of meat, diabetics, people on the Atkins Diet, people that are allergic to nuts, et cetera. So water is the only substance that I can serve and have no one feel unrecognized about.
(I know, someone could theoretically be allergic to water, but don't go there. You will have ruined my theory.)

Little puppies and flowers talk to me sometimes. There's this vortex, see, a kind of black hole, in my bathroom, right in the middle. It just sucks everything in. But, the puppy is omniscient so he can withstand the intense gravitational forces, and the event horizon is lined with flowers. All of them sing to me, in a very Rodd-Roddyish tone, and the lights and fan flicker on and off. It used to scare me but the glow from all the light that's attempting to escape from the black hole's center of gravity makes this pretty kaleidascope of color, a truly dazzling display. Anyone else ever experienced this?
I think it's the Hot Pockets. They're the Jalapeno and Cheddar kind.

I couldn't help noticing that cute picture of yourself : did you know that you look like a Finnish girl, a little bit? If you've never seen a Finnish girl before, here's a picture of myself with my two friends from Helsinki (though they don't look like you that much).
The girl on my right, Sofia, is probably one of the cutest girls I've ever seen. Guys, what do you think about her. Let me just tell you she has the most beautiful green eyes you've ever seen, and her voice is the finest melody in the world (and I think she's currently single).

Hey ramona. I always wondered if that was you in your photo too! If it is, wow!!!!
Regarding your dilema; I very much believe in fate. Everything does happen for a reason. However, I dont believe you should follow your heart without referring to your head. Sometimes your heart can play tricks on you, - thats what I find anyway. You seem confused. I dont think you're sure just how you feel about this guy, do you? Maybe writing it down would help -like the pros and cons of being with him.. Maybe you need to actually sit down and speak to him, confront him, face to face (or on paper, if it works better for you..).
Maybe you need to look at your life, and decide what it is you want. Realise what it is that will make your life complete, and if your happy with where you are right now. This guy, personally, sounds like hes fucking you around. The only way to deal with this is by laying your cards on the table. Say to him exactly how you feel, and find out where hes at. Dont except all the crap excuses they usually give - all of the 'oh, i dont know'or 'erms' and 'buts'. Get him to lay HIS cards down and tell you where hes at. Only then - when you know where you both stand - can you move on seperately, or together. Depending on the resulting situation.
Obviously, I dont know all the details, nor you or him...so my advice is very objective.
Ice Cream! Youre a man! Finally I know!
By the way,im drinking white wine.

I'm not really sure what I would say is the best of those three elements. We need both air and water to live, after all. I suppose land is the least important, since we could probably live on the water if we had to. I still LIKE the land, though.

You are all very nice about my photo - and yes, that IS me, but the photo I was actually talking about for you guys is on my FOTOLOG. Click on my little homepage buttom (HA) and you will get there.
Thanks, Gypsy, for your thoughts. I am sure about how I feel about him - it's just that we have been through a lot and it's a very long story. Perhaps not one I need to get into here, but I do appreciate everyone's advice. I think I am just going to try and put it on the back burner (mentally, that is) and see what happens. It is just hard when my IDEA OF HIM takes over and becomes its own seperate entity.
Anyway, you guys are very sweet! I hope you're all having a nice Saturday. I went to the beach and saw my favorite thing - water! I think the last time I was to the ocean was in Brighton, UK - home of Gypsy! |

Adnan, I cannot let you know what I think about her. The following is a reason why I cannot let you know what I think about her.
Adnan, you have apprised me ONLY of her physical appearance. Apart from identification processes, physical appearance is of absolutely NO significance at all. Therefore, I know no significant information about her. It is impossible for me to form an opinion on something I know nothing about. I apologize for not being able to let you know what I think about her.
I could tell you what I think about her insignificant physical appearance: She is a very attractive woman, and I have enjoyed the picture very much.
