I have tickets to Davis in about two weeks. Here's my dilemma. Everyone with tickets to the warm-up tour other than Minneapolis should also be in the same position.
I'd LOVE to tune in tonight and follow the setlist live, then hop on the torrents which will undoubtedly appear, and listen to the first Pixies show in less than 12 hours, in absolute bliss. Then I can come and discuss it here with you guys. At the same time, I'm worried that setlists and bootlegs and reviews will take out much of the anticipation and excitement for the upcoming shows. If I know what they'll play, how they'll sound, how many encores we're likely to get, my show won't feel quite as exciting.
So, should we follow these shows, or close our eyes and go into our show as if it was the first? |

I'm going to 4 shows -- and I'm going to follow the news. The shows will be different -- and I'm not sure how learning what one show is would ruin the experience of the next one. |

hey zambaretzu,
I'm with you. I've got tix to Davis, and am going to be signing off from this board until then.
Hope everyone has a great time at all the shows! (I bet MNPLS was sik!!![sic])
Look forward to catching up on setlists/stories/etc on the 30th!
Till then, rock on!

I think this was talked about in another thread, but I'll be avoiding set lists and details until I see them the first time in Victoria. Then I'll dive in and be reading everything. It's going to be a tough 8 days from now until the 21st though! |

I'm hitting Spokane/Boise/Davis/Coachella and plan to listen to the MSP show tonight as soon as I can download it. If anything this should increase the anticipation for a great run. I don't see how depriving myself of any info would heighten the experience any further. If that was the case, I wouldn't be going to four shows to begin with. (Nor would I have see FB several times a year for the past 15 years as that first time in 89 would have been enough.) As much as I'm looking forward to the reunion, I'm really hoping for a quick follow up with a Catholics tour (of course after I catch a few more shows on the fall tour). |
