Tomorrow (April 13, 2004) is the first date of the Pixies Reunion tour. The first show they've done in front of an audience in over 12 years. As we know Disclive is making the shows publicly available by recording, mixing, and mastering official live concert CD for those lucky enough to have bought them. Since I was to slow to purchase one. I was wondering if there is anyway to make this show available to the rest of us that can't make it. I'd love to hear the official first time the Pixies hit the stage. Just wondering if anyone on here is going to that show and has a CD waiting for them. If I can have a copy of that, it would be much appreciated.

I imagine that some people who buy CDs also have CD burners. It has even been suggested that these might get posted on the FTP server, though we were sort of kicking around the legality issue. Fact is, these CDs are limited-run, and will not be available to anyone afterwards. Therefore, copying this CD for someone doesn't really take money out of anybody's pocket.
Anyway, more on this after the CD is in hand.

i will be ripping my copy of the Minneapolis show and sharing it via Bit Torrent tomorrow night. and my friend will probably be posting a SHN torrent to Sharing The Groove in the morning. i realize about the legality issues, but for this first monumental show back, i'm willing to just share the music to anyone and everyone who wants to hear it, and later on deal w/ the legality issues of sharing these recordings. as it's been stated, they are limited run. the band would be naive to not think that people would be trading these. they're not losing any $ as a result of them being traded, since they are only selling a certain amount, and will most definitely sell every single copy of every single show on the tour.

It's obviously NOT about the money!!!
Otherwise they would have increased the number of CDs produced.
I'm pretty sure it's something the Pixies are doing for their fans. It's about having a very, very cool piece of history. |
