Did anyone go looking for or actually get the They Might Be Giants Indestructable Object EP yesterday? I went to my local independent chain and to a Best Buy and neither had it.

I got it yesterday. I dig it a lot. I already had three of the songs on it, but it was a surprise all around. I, as well, checked Best Buy, and they didn't have it. But a CD shop down the street had it. It's out there. It's good. I'm looking forward to the next album.

I have a few tracks from it as well already, and they are planning a new release this summer. I guess I will keep my eyes open. The local indie store had said maybe later in the week because there may have been a shipping delay. This actually happens to me a lot with the bands I listen to and smaller record labels.

I like the version of "Au Contraire" on The Spine more than the one on the EP. Still a good EP, though.

About as strange as Floop posting in a thread about Mexican food

I did, right around when it came out. It's far from TMBG's best, but it has some really fun songs. I'm particularly fond of "Alphabet Of Nations."

i heard "john henry" all the way through the other day for the first time, and i thought most of it was awesome! how is it that it is looked down upon by so many? or am i mistaken?

anyway, "subliminal" is superb.

I think that, when John Henry came out, it was panned by critics, and many long-time fans didn't like the direction they were taking. That was before I was a fan, though, and the opinions I see on that album nowadays seem to be much more positive. I think it's an excellent album, personally. "Sleeping In The Flowers" is my favorite song on there.

Glad someone brought up TMBG. My kids are nuts over ABC's (DVD version). I have always dug TMBG and its nice to see my kiddo's lapping them up. Anyone who has kids should get that DVD. The John's genre-hop all over the place and expose the kids to great music of all types.

With FB having kids (and the ability to seemingly crank out 10-12 songs every 2-3 months), we should expect some type of kids offering down the road??

He already composed "Pray for the Girls" for the PowerPuff Girls soundtrack. If his future kid offerings are anything like that....they will be amazing!

Definitely. Also, Sir Rockaby is a pure lullaby per FB himself. He needs to get this project off the ground, whats the holdup??

Nothing I hate more than lazy rock stars in Beverly Hills Mansions waiting 2 years between projects...

Yeah, they live in Brooklyn, not Beverly Hills.
