Today's random song of the day is the scene.

What do you think of it?

lyrics
Your wine it tastes so sweet
But it’s no affaire d’amour
I can hear the ghosts of 14th St.
As they are running out the door

Can’t you see you have no connections
It’s plain to see you have no connections
You’re oblivious to me
As you climb out the top of some truck limousine
Still filming your scene

You’re talking way too loud
But there’s nothing to exchange
You prefer to dine with your own crowd
Out there grazing on the range

Oh can’t you see you have no connections
It’s plain to see you have no connections
No connections
It’s plain to see you have no connections
You’re oblivious to me
Now you’re talking in the dark through my favorite scene
My favorite scene

Having listened to it 100 times or more, I can confidently say that it's by far the worst song on DW.

Possibly the worst on DW, but still a good tune. Great start to the song with fine lyrics. Really like the tempo and the vocals on this.

I like the emotion in the vocals
but I have to say it's a weak recording
not saying it's a weak song though

I've never much like this song. It just doesn't sound like a Frank Black song to me.

Wow...It's one of my favorites on DW. DW is probably my least favorite album though.

I didn't like it much at first but now I love it.
Not in my top 5 though but how can you say it's worst than 'are you headed my way' ?!?

strange, this is probably one of the very few FB songs that I can't actually recall off the top of my head! reading the lyrics i recongise it, well mostly... can't say i'm a big fan. but having said that, i've only just got into whiskey in your shoes, didn't like that one, and just the other week i listened to it again and decided it was my fave on DW!

propably my 9th favorite song on DW, which is amazingly good considering the 8 in front of it are some of my favorite songs of all time. In other words, it's not my favorite on the album, butthe album is so great that it's still one of my favorite FB songs.

This one never really grabbed me. It's not bad, but it's probably my least favorite on the ol' Devil's Workshop. The beginning kind of reminds me of "Village Of The Sun," but I like VOTS better.

I love this song and cannot understand why Frank doesn't ever play it. In my opinion it is a much better song than the boring Fields of Marrigold, Velvety (Pixies version much better), Are you headed my way (which I actually like), Modern Age. I listened to DW recently and think it's a cracking album bar FOM, the Scene is one of my favorite FB tracks... but I guess everyone has a different opinion.

I love the intro to this song.(heh, I feel as though I'm Dean reviewing pixies triute songs)

DW is one of my Favorite Frank Albums....probably in the top 4.

You guys treat Robert Onion like it's the Queen of the Netherlands and then you lay the samck down on the Scene?! You're all all backwards. The Scene is one of those songs that leaves me repeating one simple word: rock.

Great rock song.

I like the song and the album. DW gets played more often than any other FB&C album.

The melody of "I can hear the ghosts of 14th St" goes really well with the other instruments, weak guitar solo, but I do like how the guitar lowers with the wammy bar at the very end.
