I picked up the new Iggy and the Stooges live in Detroit DVD the other day, it's from their reunion tour with Mike Watt on bass. Really nice DVD, I must say. It has the entire gig they played in Detroit and an entire in store performance from NYC as well as a few other extras. Check it out if you get a chance.

whoa, thanks for the tip. I'll be picking this up as soon as I can. I'm still hoping they'll do some more dates, though I've already missed the boat on their two LA-area appearances, so I probably shouldn't expect too much.

Sounds good. The closest I've come to seeing the Stooges was Mike Watt singing '1970' for Mission of Burma.

Yeah I regret missing them in NYC but I was told that it was an opening slot for Godsmack and I refused to pay money to see the Stooges open for such a shit group... Or maybe I was just to lazy to drive to NYC.

I was also at teh jones beach show and was amazed at how shitty the turn out was. The place isn't really that big and they didn't come anywhere close to selling the place out. Good lineup, though, with Sonic Youth opening.

Question-I know that I was drunk at the time, but did the stooges play I Wanna Be Your Dog twice? I remember being all sorts of 'huh' about it.

Oh, and I saw Televison again last night in NYC. Third time. Not bad considering they broke up before I was born

yeah, me too - i actually bought a ticket from the box office for $10 fifteen minutes before the show opened

my friend went to the detroit show and said it was packed wall to wall

most concerts these days i just show up and see if i can wangle my way in

they played "dog" during the set and then at the encore - i was pretty baffled myself but who knows - i heard that they purposely limited their set list

mike watt was brilliant he definitely added to their sound, and looked really slim and healthy

i didn't know television was playing again, i'm old and saw them a lot back in the day - i was at cbgbs for a lot of historically monumental shows

i guess now i'll start hoping for a reunion tour of the birthday party, of course it would never be the same without tracy

any other historically significant bands you'd like to see do a tour?(saying pixies would be cheating, can't wait till they hit the east coast)

There are a few more Stooges shows already lined up, just a few UK festivals as far as I know, but there might be more later.
