So the pixies are beginning a new tour after 12 years. To show that they are cool they decide to do a cover. A music from the period they were out of action (1992-2004).Wich music is that?

Is that the version of Apache recorded somewhere between 1992 and 2004?
Ahem.
Saying that, Six-sixty-six would be good (noise version, obviously).
How about To Here Knows When by My Bloody Valentine, or Sugar Kane by Sonic Youth, or Just by Radiohead. That might work.

would be quite funny if they finished with a cover of just at coechella (or whatever it's called), would make radiohead look a little second rate i reckon when they came to play their own song...

no disrespect to rh, i'm a big fan, and it'd be a very hard song to do any better (in a raw indie rock kind of way), but let's face it, it'd be the pixies doing, it'd be kick-ass... and they'd put an interesting twist on it, doing it slightly different, as they do or did...

i'm not convinced they'll do any new songs, they've got too many original songs that people want to hear, so maybe it'll be enough to play a few more 'obscurish' (although just what they would be now following 4ad/cooking vinyls releases, god knows) songs. maybe even that elusive track from the purple tapes session that has never been heard by most of mankind? maybe we'll finally hear that?!?

I actually was thinking about this when I read the "Outkast influenced by Pixies" thread. It would be funny as hell.

What about the Milkshake song? Or something by S club 7 would be quite good.

Seriously though, id be intrigued to see them do something by some one like Guided by Voices, or QOTSA haha that would be funny.

Also what 'bout covering the Cowboy Junkee's Cover of the Velvet Undergrounds "Sweet Jane"??? That would be so sweet and they could spice it up in their own way!
