Tolerant, How did you come across the Catholics BBC Session and where could I get a copy? My favorite cover, as this time, would have to be "I'm Going Down" by Springstein off of the Dog Gone single. |

when they toured uk few years back they dropped by radio 1 studios and played a few songs, including sister isabelle. i'm sure theres a few mp3s floating around this forum somewhere. these guys seem to know all the answers, if not, give them a few hours and they'll get it. |

Yes Tolerant I know exactly what you mean. Over a number of years I have rediscovered songs that never did it for me intially and sometimes for a long time but then one day found myself humming the tune and the brilliance struck me in a blinding flash!
The most recent example is So. Bay, I used to think it was weak and derivative but now I literally cannot get enough of it.
Fave cover would have to be Sister Isabel |

as a player of the ol six string i'm a huge fan of songs like so. bay. they have at least three parts to the song which changs in dynamics and end in the most sweetest of melodies. nother big example is so hard to make things out

Yeah. There have many songs I didn't understand or 'feel' at first but now do. On the contrary though, there are no/very few Frank Black songs that I used to like and now don't.

It's a pity I totally missed seeing the Catholics. I wonder if it'll be too late.
I've been downloading from the FTP section the last few days.. The Frank Black (vs the pixies) live stuff is much more interesting. |
