"Mad Dawg Please cease with the incessant spamming. 70-80% of your posts on FB.Net have some link to your various wares and it sets a bad precedent for others. Consider this a friendly and private warning that you are not under any circumstances to post another message with links, references, allusions, or hints to your products, auctions, personal webpages, etc. Set your homepage in your profile, and add additional "cool links" if you so choose, but no more links posted on the forum. Thanks, Dean"
Dean, I'm not going to count but I think your math is a little off. Whatever, thank you ever so much for allowing me the shameless self promotion for so long. I will be forever grateful and always maintain a special place in my heart for this sites part in making me the living legend that I've become since posting here.
According to my webmaster I did get one sale from someone who linked from this site. (Do I owe Frank a commission?). I figured it was the Greek Geek or French Fanatic trying to purchase something that might help them catch the "cool" but the product shipped to Canada. I wonder why they didn't share openly about their purchase? Whoever it was, you have my special blessing.
BTW Dean, have you ever done anything noteworthy or are you attempting to achieve greatness in any areas? I would be glad to offer you my advice free of my normal consulting charge should you feel like sharing.
I'm considering contacting Frank to play at a festival I will be promoting this summer in San Diego. For more info click on..... uhhhhh never mind.

Or consider it a public warning, it matters not to me.
As second most geeky person here (so far), I'm fairly convinced my math is accurate. You may send your commission directly to me. I'll see Frank gets his cut.

What is your mom's FB.net forum handle??
(for the record, you don't use "they" or "their" when referring to one person, because "their" refers to 2 or more people.)

perhaps Mad Dawg is paying homage to Jane Austin, who was, as we all know, a poineer of the grammatically incorrect singular usage of "their"
http://www.crossmyt.com/hc/linghebr/austheir.html
singlehandedly, Jane Austin changed the face of literature, all by themself. |

"its" ? ;)
Isn't gender a social construct? At least by certain lights? Or would that be only within hopelessly abysmal benightedness? |

"I wonder why it didn't share openly about it's purchase."
or
"I wonder why he/she didn't share openly about his/her purchase"
I think I prefer "their". |

I believe the term "his" or "he" respectively represents either sex, if the sex is not known. That's the English grammar way of doing that.

Hey MadDawg - you might not have noticed, but you're the only person on here selling stuff to other people(at least that i'm aware of.) There's a reason for this, and your warning.
Thanks. Respect the CoF.

Jane AustEn! I love her and her run on sentences, too! Leave some room for creativity in writing for Chrissakes! If it were all grammatically correct we'd have no prose and no lyrics either.

Yeah, and if it were all grammatically correct it would be Mad Dog spamming the forum instead of Mad Dawg.

It's time to play "Mad Dawg's Vocabulary!"
Which one of these words does not belong?
-silver -noteworthy -Frank Black
Answer: Frank Black! That's right, Mad Dawg sure has used the hell out of the word "noteworthy," and he can't make 10 posts without trying to sell his silver. Legend has it that this silver was buried in a toilet over 200 years ago by Pirate Mad Dawg.

I got an A in English as well, and also in History, so I could direct not only to the house in Chawton where Jane Austen lived, but also to the house in Winchester where she died. So ner.

Why would I try to sell silver at a site full of under or unemployed malcontents, gathering in group psychosis to bolster their false pride and ego by bashing the noteworthy? I was utterly amazed I sold something to one of you. It was probably paid for through trust fund money. |

I know this is just stoking the fire and everything, but just out of interest: why is it important that someone does something noteworthy with their lives?

Cheeseman, so they can be happy. What I would consider noteworthy may not apply. The mirror is what is important. |

OK then, why would you consider that to be happy you have to do something of note? I'm happy, and I haven't done anything particularly impressive.

So who cares what your definition is "noteworthy." Everyone has their own definition for what they think is "noteworthy" in their lives. Stop fuckin asking us.

El Barto - Damn fucking straight.
Mad Dawg - You have no right to judge other people's lives based on what you think is "noteworthy." Personally, I don't find your "jewelry" noteworthy at all. It's laughable at most. Whenever someone has a bone to pick with you...your "comeback" is always "Well...have you done anything noteworthy in your life?" Please explain to us what you have done that is so fucking "noteworthy."

Mr Futon it sounds like you and others are jealous of Guru Dawg. I also sense a hint of anger. Could this be from the repressed shame of doing nothing noteworthy with your life? You are alive. There is still time. Don't give up. You can do it. Something. Anything.

My personal opinion is that...
a person of whom biographies have been written, historians have accumulated research, and the general public have heard...
is noteworthy.
However, there are many people that biographies HAVEN'T been written about. There are many people that society are NEVER going to recognize in 100 years. There are so many people that have a following of only those who personally know them. A lot of these people are very kind and pleasant to be in the presence of. Therefore, being noteworthy should, imo, not be a factor that determines whether or not a person is good.
