I like to scratch off my address and the bar code, then put them back in the mailbox. Imagine if everybody did that....

We used to put them in the microwave and make nicely fractal-patterned coasters. Now I just break them and throw them away.

Whoa... never thought of microwaving a CD. Sounds fun.

I once threw one across a parking lot like frisbee.

It is a stunning light show, but stand back.
And be prepared to press "Cancel" with bionic-man quantum speed. One person to turn off the lights, the other at the ready to hit the "save your face and microwave oven" button.

We were foolhardy. Punk RAWK!!!

cd's are surprisingly durable. They can sometimes play with huge scratches, (purposefully gouged out) or even cracked. You can immerse them in water, too. Much more durable than tapes.

I did this a couple of times.

Earthlink and AOL discs.

-

I was really bored at work, started reading on Tesla and found a link to a whole heap o' sites dedicated to destroying CDs.

I think that this may be the site: http://raptor.physics.wisc.edu/wacky/cd/

Oh, um, now I just put them in a drawer.

I guess I figure I'll do something with them someday.

Benji, America OnLine sends out millions of discs of their software to everyone here in the states, I get at least 1 a month. As Floop points out, they usually come in a metal box. The resources needlessly wasted to produce and distribute these is mind-boggling...

Apl - So, you stopped doing that after blowing up how many microwaves?? That's hilarious..
