Boom Chick a Boom is cool early pixies. Its a shame there was never a studio recording of it.
To those who are just discovering BCB, other rare pixies tracks to check out are Born in Chicago and I Can't forget. Both are covers, BIC from a eleckra records compilation disc called rubaiyat and ICF from a Leonard Cohen tribute. You can get them off of soulseek or from the Trashin's Pixies Page.
Does anyone know anything about the song Little Hop? On the Pixies Timeline page its listed twice on an early tape from 86. Has anyone heard it? Can it be found anywhere? Does it even exist? Inquiring minds would like to know...

I am, as well, looking for that song. It may just be another song with the wrong title, which is what I'm thinking, but hopefully not!

Another one i've heard mentioned is Watch what you're doing, apparently a Larry Norman cover?

I believe that may have been recorded with the Purple Tape, but only Gary Smith has a copy of it stashed away. I believe it was eluded to in an essay he wrote somewhere. (It wasn't the one in DTTP.)

Have to agree with Shakey Shake on the FTP radio show, absolutely blinding quality and performance. Thanks to whoever uploaded it, it is a diamond. The band is so tight, and they play like they are having a complete blast. Cheers for the upload. |

It's funny because i heard this song is a cover from a band which tried to imitate them. Are you sure it's Pixies ?? |

This is where i got my suspicions from,on dag.wieers.com/debaser under lyrics/watch what your doing it's got this note. "We did three days in a row, working twenty-four hours a day to save money. We recorded seventeen songs (eighteen if one counts the secret one I have stashed away!)" - Gary Smith in Rock A My Soul #1

Yes, that is the reference I was referring to. My uncle, incidentally, is named Gary Smith, and he refuses to know what I'm talking about when I ask him if I can listen to the song. If he were the same Gary Smith, I might have a little bit more luck.
