Pixies "Where Is My Mind" 4. Dave Matthews "#41" 3. Frank Black "Dog In The Sand" 2. David Bowie "Always Crashing In The Same Car" 1. David Bowie "Untitled No. 1"

I've never actually listed my Top Ten songs ever, so I don't know whether Frank would make it or not. He'd definitely make my Top Ten albums, though, with TOTY and possibly DITS as well, depending on how many others albums I could think of.

Top tens are way to hard to compile. Believe me, I've tried. I would want them to be diverse and limit groups to one or two songs, but then it's innaccurate. But there are more than 10 FB songs that I could easily say are the best songs in the world......
though the more and more I think about it, "The Marsist" might be the all-time best song that surpasses everything else.

You know, I never think about favorite songs, not in a top 10 format. However Frank Black and Eric Bachmann (archers of loaf, crooked fingers, barry black) keep bouncing back and forth as my favorite singer/song writer. Thalassocracy is definite. Other FB possibilities would be Pan American Highway, Man if Steel, St. Francis Dam Disaster, Billy Radcliffe, Jane the queen of love and Modern Age. He has such a huge back catalog of stuff to consider. |

It would take me too long to compile a "top 10" and if I did it would change in a couple of days, but Frank would have at least 4: If It Takes All Night, How You Went So Far, San Antonio TX, Western Star, and probably even more than that. He's my favorite artist of all time so obviously there's gonna be a bunch of them.

The only top ten I've ever compiled is my "Top Ten Numbers 1 through 10":
10. "10" 9. "9" 8. "8" 7. "7" 6. "6" 5. "2" 4. "1" 3. "4" 2. "5" 1. "3"

Never done a list before, but I know for sure Franks in there.
How many in top 10? How many in top 5 for me!
I'm more than just FB, but he gets the top spot too. I'll leave it for you to decide which one of his masterpieces gets the honour. |

"Velouria" would probably make my top ten songs. I guess that counts as a Frank song, doesn't it?

It is. They nearly all are thinking about it.
We've been blessed by so much music from the man we call Frank Black. Hope it never ends. The world without his music, well my world, would be a dull and quiet place.

So many old names in here I miss. Ice Cream, Calistan, ...
I don't think I could accurately do a top 10, but I'm sure there'd be at least a few FB songs.

I don't have a top 10, but if I did, I'm pretty sure How You Went So Far would be included in it, and possibly San Antonio, TX.

FB occupies possibly up to 30-40% of my listening throughout the year I find. Definitely would have a few in my top 10. Ok here's a quick top eleven FB songs for no other reason than I cannot even cut his songs down to ten, let alone fit it into my overall top ten, let alone take the Pixies into account...sheeesh...I give up. Adda Lee Ramona Superabound All my ghosts Western Star Robert Onion Hermaphroditos If it Takes All Night Southbound Bevy SanAntonio Massif Centrale

Motorway to Roswell or Gouge Away might make my top 10.
Pixies/Frank have many albums that would make my top 10/25, and though I consider Frank the master singer-songwriter he only gets 1 or 2 top 10 songs tops. So many others to chose from. |
