Well, it looks like we (me and 3 buddies) are going to drive through the night from Vancouver and grace Saskatoon with our presence on April 17th.
Anybody with experience with this drive....help?
Hwy 1 Vancouver to Calgary, north to Edmonton then east to Saskatoon? i can't really tell by the BCAA mapbook i've got. we are figuring about 16 hours stopping only for gas, beer and number 2's. is this realistic?

Yes, that is the best way. I used to be a trucker so when we had to go to Saskatoon from Vancouver, we'd head east on Hwy 1 to east of Calgary to east of Strathmore then turn left on Hwy 21 until you hit Hwy 9 then turn right and stay on Hwy 9 right into Saskatoon. This would take approximately 18 hours, but might be done faster depending on hwy conditions and traffic. If you need more help, let me know!

Yup, use the coquahalla (sp?) but don't go up to Edmonton and then down to Saskatoon, you're just adding two hours (although saving yourself some turns on the poorly marked Alberta highways - yeah, I went there :) ). Oh, just read the rest of LooseT's post. Dead on, including time. We did it in 16 hours going from Saskatoon to Vancouver with a one hour stop in Calgary, a few gas/bathroom breaks, a little speeding and a visit from the dreaded BC/Texas RCMP. "You boys ain't from around here. Your breath smells sweet."
Don't get me started. :)
See ya here!

Honest to God. "Your breath smells sweet". Who says that? To the PASSENGER? With a dreamy look in their eye? Funny stuff. Welcome back, sweet breath. |

Thanks for the help guys! and, hey! what time will it be in Saskatoon, is there anything funky with daylight savings time? Saskatoon is 2 hours ahead of vancouver now, but do they set their clocks forward like the rest of us?

No daylight savings time for us. We're backward, and that's just the begining.... |

Well, if you're staying downtown, makes sense to hit the clubs there. If you wanna a good lounge, you can't beat the Spadina Freehouse. There are several other good pubs downtown as well, including O'Sheas and Winstons. If you wanna shake your booty to some hip-hop, there's the Odeon. Old school 70s and 80s at the Roxy. I hope you're not kidding, I wanna throw down. |

2 am, sadly. So the party doesn't quite make it to the break of dawn. I have no idea what a death cookie is, but I can certainly shake it in any style you prefer, if the polaroid pitcha won't do. |

Technically they close at 3 (and last call has to be an hour before close - i.e. at 2) but death cookie = funny and Post-Pixies Punkstravaganza Party sounds Alliteratively Awesome.

Death Cookies shall be officially added to the lexicon of politcally incorrect bastards (such as myself). Wade on, indeed. Every summer. We should definitely hook up after the show, that would be swell. |

Politically incorrect? I don't know about that, It's a term of endearment, like "sweetie pie", wink wink. Looks like were picking up a friend in Edmonton on the way, could be up to seven of us now, start planning that party you Saskatoon Pixies fans!

Death cookies often flirt with concept of "dye"ing. Was she wearing an ankh?
