Hi, I noticed that on the gigography page, that FB & the C's were listed as playing Seattle twice on April 11, 2003, and then to Boise, ID on April 12. They actually rescheduled last minute and played Olympia, WA on April 12, I went to the show. It was a small tavern, and there was no stage or drum riser, just floor monitors between the band and audience. I stood about 5 feet from FB the entire time. He ended the show acoustically, as an encore, coming out after my boyfriend screamed "CALISTAN WAY!" several times. Yes, he played it first. The Catholics also did 8-10 Pixies songs.

got it. thanks, all. if anybody knows the name of the tavern in question, please pass it on.
8-10 Pixies songs, though?! that's gotta be a bit hyperbolic, doesn't it? Even the Pixies didn't play that many Pixies songs in a set. ;) |

this is great, this is exactly the kind of thing that users should be able to add to the gigography.

Yeah, it'd be pretty cool if we could make it a bit more open ended so that users could add comments about particular shows and stuff. Gavin? Dave? Are we going anywhere with this? :)

yeah, this has been talked about for a long time. I have plenty of reviews, setlists, flyers, ticket stubs, etc. that i could plug in to the gigog as soon as somebody comes along to set up a DB system for it. And yeah, it'd be neat to mesh with the SongDB.. ie, you want to know at which shows Frank played "Some Things (I Can't Get Used To)", you just click a link in the SongDB and the Gigog gives you a list. If anyone out there is willing and able to help make this a reality, please contact me and/or Dave. thanks. |

I started this thing, I'll try to give more info...The show was in Olympia at The 4th Avenue Tavern, I'll dig the show flyer out of the memo trunk to be sure. I wish I had written down the songs; they played ALOT of Pixies stuff; Mr. Grieves, Crackity Jones, and a bunch off of Rosa/Pilgrim. I don't want to misinform, so I won't take a stab at the other Pixies songs they played. If I can find some more info on this show somewhere, I'll be able to better remember the songs. I know 8-10 seems like alot, but they played alot of songs in general, and I couldn't believe it every time a Pixies song started up. David Lovering opened the show with his scientific phenomenalist show; I ripped down a flyer for the show inside of the club, and had David sign it for me. I stood in the back of the room chatting with David during the encore. I asked him about his fave female musicians; Kim Deal, of course, and he was into The Donnas, also. This song thing is really going to bug me; I'm pretty sure they did Monkey Gone To Heaven and Here Comes Your Man. It's so confusing because when you dream of being able to see the Pixies live, and then you see FB, you hope he'll play the songs you've dreamed about. I just kept wondering how weird David felt watching the Catholics play Pixies stuff. Hmm.
