On the main page of the site, a random quote pops up. Sadly, there's just three in there. A long time ago, i started a thread to collect cool FB quotes.
I'm looking for a person (or a few! Team Quote!) to find this ancient thread, and manage a small database of cool FB quotes. (Don't worry, you don't need any more technical skills than being able to effectively cut'n'paste text..)
I'd like to get a quote 'team' rather than individual..but yeah, this thread is sorely lacking in the quote dept. I already told you guys where well over a dozen (i think there were 30+ there!) can be found.... Try the Archives in the FB Chat area..or maybe it was Webstuff...dunno...
"It's still the same old challenge for me to make music. It's my little way of being God. When I'm writing music there's nothing, no universe, just me, God. And I'm here and now I will create something."
"I feel I am a better lyricist now, better at writing, better at doing something that's formulaic not cliché. Before I was more angular, abstract, even avant-garde. I'm not afraid of cliché anymore. For me to embrace cliché is a new challenge."
"It's music, for crying out loud! We are talking about the language of God!"
"So I don't get to play on the radio. It's their loss. I don't listen to their radio station, and there are plenty of other people who don't either."
"You think 'oh my gosh, I was right. The world really is full of stupid motherfuckers'. Am I just getting old, is that was it is, and I'm just not relating to some of these younger kids? No, they're getting dumber. It is happening."
"You get into a cab, he doesn't know where it is, and there's a lot of head scratching going on. What are we gonna do about it. You know what I mean. It'd be different if I was asking him the meaning of life..."
"You might get played on the radio, you might not, but that isn't the goal, and it shouldn't be the goal. The goal is to serve the great goddess rock. You like music? Great--make music. Compete with your favorite records. Talk to other people about some of those records that you liked when you were growing up. (...) Why am I doing this? I'm doing this because when I was five years old I was walking down the street and I wanted to find the source of all that noise that was going on in someone's basement. 'Ah ha, there it is--the blue sparkling drum set, gleaming in the sunlight through the windows. Ah, I want to have something to do with that.' That's what it's all about."

* From the cooking vinyl website (2003) :
"You're never going to like one of my damn records if you only listen to it once."
'Put the record on again and go look for that bottle of scotch'
On SMVGD:
' I had a few copies of it in my pocket and I was on tour and a couple of super-excited kids who seemed like they deserved something special happened to be there and I said, ¡°Here you go,¡± and they posted it, like, the next day. I didn¡¯t ask my audience to buy it. It¡¯s a freebie, I¡¯m not going to sell it.'
On his songs:
'I try my best not to give them every little piece of drivel that goes through my mind.'
Who's the man that won't cop out when there's danger all about?
"Frankofile" is a pun on "Frankophile". Oh David, must I hold your hand through everything? ;}
Stu, I was christened "Frankofile" when Dave made me the ftp man with the plan. Which is why I offered to email Frank about SSMVGD. But I guess Dave was joking about that.
