Charles is being a bit of a prickly pear in interviews this year. I find it kind of funny but I also find it very difficult to watch. He berates the interviewer for over 8 full minutes over one harmless question (totally inspired by something specifically stated in the official press release for the album) asked at the start.

Hehe. Yeah, that press release isn't doing anyone any favours. It's kind of the same situation with the whole Daniel Boone thing. The press release makes him seem like a character that looms large in the story of this album. Interviewers inevitably try read something into this and then get shot down immediately.

Francis: If you know Joey, when you hear his guitar playing, it’s like, “Oh, yeah, of course that’s what he sounds like.” I can honestly say that his personality is very much represented in his style. I say this because, in all of the musical analysis that goes on in writing about our records, he probably doesn’t get enough credit for how much his playing makes the music sound like the Pixies.
