I’m tasked with putting together a pretty mainstream playlist for a wedding reception, and of course I want to sneak in an FBF track or two. The songs would have to be something that would keep the crowd dancing fairly unterruptedly, blending seamlessly from classic 80s dance tunes by Madonna and Michael Jackson to top 40 stuff that people are dancing to today like Cardi B or whatever.

So, so far all I can think of is... not that much from fbf.

Tame?
Dead?
River Euphrates?

Those seem more mosh than dance.

Virginia Reel is a real possibility, but I can’t have the whole wedding party be like “what the heck is this?”

Help!!!

I'd forgotten about Virginia Reel, the bonus Bluefinger tracks. Virginia Reel sounds a bit like Virgin Rail though.

I wonder if La La Love You ever gets played at weddings. How awkward could that be?

You could definitely play some Grand Duchy or Seus remix tracks. Silver Boys?

Appreciate the suggestion; I’m not sure how that one would work out. I’d love to have something from TOTY on the playlist.

I think Square dancing would go well with Six Sixty Six

Why not the obvious...Here Comes Your Man? Cecilia Ann, cool little surf rock tune with some bounce.

You know, begrudgingly, I must admit that that's probably the safest choice.

Maybe I'll sneak something else in there too just to keep it weird.

A valid point, but no one will be listening to the lyrics. Plus it starts to slow. Have you ever tried to dance to it?

But I appreciate all suggestions!

Dancing the manta ray. Of course.

(the DJ should urge all the guest to flap their arms in the air.)
