picpic and I were discussing this on another thread (another thread in the ocean of threads) so I thought I would ask for help from the forum here:

Please share any articles you have read on Bossanova or Trompe that are written in the vein of those “30 years later Surfer Rosa is still awesome” or “25 years later Doolittle is still the best thing ever” type of articles.

Surely somebody must have done something on 25 years of Trompe (or even 20 years of TOTY for that matter).

Thanks!

Good one. Thanks The Maharal.

I feel like I read one titled, "Why Trompe Le Monde Should Be Your Favorite Pixies Album," but I think that was a dream I had.

This is something; it's called "Trompe Le Monde Versus Any Pixies Album of Your Choice"

Great article from The Quietus.
This thread inspired me to listen to Trompe Le Monde while gardening this afternoon as it'd been a while since I'd given it a spin.
What a record.
Just non-stop from start to finish.
I'd forgotten how heavy-metal some of Joey's riffs are on this.
Tomorrow I'll do Bossanova.

all i can say, thank god for polio! brian

Lots of drop-D songs on Trompe. Very metal indeed.

Another (amateur but good) article on Trompe (in French)

http://www.ed-wood.net/ed-disco-trompe-le-monde.htm

I discovered the Pixies and Trompe after reading that article many years ago.

I believe Indie Cindy turns five early next year. I could nominate Peter Radiator to write a retrospective on it.
