Got my tickets! Looking forward to seeing them with Paz, she seems to have given them new life. |

Caught the Melbourne show last night, they were in top form and for the most part the Head Carrier songs blended seamlessly into the set, especially the rockers like Baals back. Even the Pixified Frank Black/Catholics type songs (i.e. Head Carrier) sounded great and were a good change of pace. They played a few Bossonova songs (Veloria, Rock Music, Havalina) which was awesome as it is one of my favourite albums and I've never seen them perform anything from that album on other Australian tours. With Paz on board and new album chock full of greatness they sounded great, played great and Frank's voice still has the same power it always has - they seem unstoppable right now. They only played one song from Indie Cindy (Magdelena), probably a good thing they've moved on from the difficult fifth album and have picked up where they left off in 1991 with Head Carrier. Paz even got to do her song and did a decent version of Into the White as an encore, she had big shoes to fill with Kim Deal's departure and while her voice isn't as good her playing has made the rest of the band lift their game and sound better than ever. 5/5 |

Interesting that Magdelana seems to be the one song from IC that the band themselves (or the man himself) didn't vote off the island. |

Good point Sdon. I don't know if anyone is keeping count but it seems that Magdalena gets played more than any of the others from IC. |

Crowd seems into it.
Is there discussion anywhere on here re: the blazer? |

I was at Sydney. Had an absolute ball. The crowd was very into it! Highlight for me was Um Chagga Lagga, new appreciation for that one after hearing it live.
HC tracks fit seamlessly into the set. Particularly good crowd responses to UCL, Masher, Oona |

Haven't you always found their attire to be.... I'm trying to be kind here.
I think that's part of their whole thing. They never really dressed like you would expect your favorite band to dress. I want to nominate them for What Not To Wear (if that show is still on). |

During the Bluefinger tour with Carter, Normal and Ding, BF was all dressed in black, wearing black t-shirt, blazer, trousers, shoes (and no socks, that was punk!) It was so nice, so fitting, the perfect BLACK dress code

Saw on setlist dot com that the March 5 show in Melbourne had "Indie Cindy slightly slowed down version"
Did a video of this ever get posted anywhere? |
