They sounded absolutely great tonight. The sound was loud, full and a great mix. Pretty good selection of songs, although kinda bummed nothing off of Bossanova was played. One special note, about 3/4 of the way into the set Dave stood up behind his drums and thanked everyone for coming out to see them at the historic hollywood Bowl, then stated this was a special night because Come on Pilgrim was released 27 years ago this very day, and then they launched into an awesome version of Isla De Encanta. Very cool.
The sold out 18,000 person audience was really into it, singing along with many of the songs, from Hey, to Monkey Gone to Heaven, Here Comes Your Man and Debaser. They closed their set with Where Is Your Mind, and hearing 18,000 people singing the ooh-oohs was really a cool thing to hear.
After the set ended there was a brief encore pause, the band came back, the audience lights came on and they played one last song, Planet of Sound to end the night. I was grinning from ear to ear, for some reason hearing that song end the set was so good. Franks screams echoing through the Hollywood hills was the perfect way to end the night. :)

All in all, an amazing night. I can't wait to see them again.

Gee, rythm section with Dave + Paz sounds badass. Very nice sound on the Planet of Sound video.
Audience looks as asleep as on the previous gigs. I think the band attitude on stage and their habit to rush their setlist doesn't encourage the audiences to feel involved. But hey, that's always been the case. Nice video, though...

| Woahhhhhhhhhhhhhh that version of Planet Of Sound is incredible. Love the rythm section, sounds incredible. Also BF's vocals witht the echo sounds great. Joey as always is in fine form. I am so excited or the new record. |
