In no particular ranking:

1. TMBG opens, Pixies close.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7lMF31GHu8

2. Pixies and Tom Waits alternate show order for a co-headlining tour.
http://youtu.be/aow-CzM2W-Y?t=25s

3. Pixies and Roxy Music (let them figure out the billing order).
http://youtu.be/l5Z__eBzIhA?t=35s

4. Yo La Tengo opens, Pixies close.
http://youtu.be/g4RXZewf70k?t=56s

5. Rocket From The Tombs reform (again) with BOTH Richard Lloyd and Cheetah Chrome. They open, Pixies close.

6. Magazine opens, Pixies close.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwQxdZ47MHc

7. Husker Du reunion - or, in a pinch, The Bob Mould Band playing Husker Du songs (with Dave Grohl on drums) opens, Pixies close.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHjHBojMsRs

8. ANGST.

Would love to see them tour with Calexico. Not only would they be a great band to see open for Pixies on their own merit, Pixies could borrow their mariachi players to spice up Motorway to Roswell and Caribou.

I didn't know at all that Some Things was a cover of Angst, thanks you made my day. Great original version, and (now that I can actually appreciate it) great cover too!

Glad you enjoyed it! They really were a great band. Wish I could have seen them live back in the day. I always thought they sounded like a more eerie, low-fi version of Husker Du.

The guitar player and main songwriter of my first band back in high school (circa 1983-1986) was a real SST nut and had a lot of that label's lesser known LPs, including those by Angst. Looking back I think a good many of the chord progressions and vocal styles he contributed to the group were heavily influenced by that group. At the time I was too young and caught up in the moment to even notice things like that...
