Hmm, that link isn't good anymore and I can't find any other information on this. Maybe it was called off?

I'm on the wait list for when more tickets are released. This thing is PRICEY though, so I may not actually go. $148 is insane. |

Wow! That is steep!
Considering when this gig is set to happen, maybe they'll be previewing EP3 material at that point...

$148? You gotta be kidding. I could see Mike Watt 15 times for that price.

and it's not the most accessible location. so for most i would assume hotel and travel expenses. but its worth every penny for sure. i drove down the Pacific Hwy and did the Avenue of the Giants drive for one of the BF shows. slept at a rest stop, a travelodge in oakland, and another motel in seaside oregon on the way back. i love road trips; maybe i'll sign up for the wait list.....

Mike Watt plays too many shows, thereby diluting his brand and needlessly deflating his value. A more resonsible management firm could reposition him and increase his efficiency as a musical commodity. |

That's the only reason I'm even considering it. The unique venue and vibe should be very memorable. But yeah, crazy expensive. |

It's a venue with a capacity of only 300. That's the equivalent of a very small club. You're not gonna see the band play another place that size anytime soon. The location is off-the-beaten path, the Pixies have a big tour bus and they have a crew to pay. If you look at their tour schedule, the band's going out of their way to play there (presumably because Frank just likes the venue--he's played there solo before). Smaller acts with fewer road expenses might be able to get away with a lower ticket price, but I think a high ticket price is to be expected here.
The location looks to be sort of a "resort" (I know that's probably not the best word). It's not a club in the middle of a metro area. As shineoftheever pointed out above, most of the audience will already be paying big bucks for travel expenses and lodging. (Hotels there are not cheap--http://boardingarea.com/loyaltytraveler/2013/09/21/just-how-expensive-are-big-sur-hotels/#sthash.ZW8s55jQ.dpbs) $150 a ticket might be the LEAST of some peoples' expenses here.
If it's too expensive for you (it's too expensive for me--I live in Texas, I'm not going), then I say just don't go and be happy for the 300 people who will go. That's my stance, at least. |

So now people cannot debate a $150 concert ticket without being told to stop complaining and shut up? |

I'm merely stating why I don't think this isolated show up in the mountains of central California for an audience of 300 is a big deal. The whole Pixies tour isn't $150-a-ticket. I don't mean it as an attack. Whether you take it that way is up to you, I guess. |
