Great stuff. Thanks, Armx3.
I've just watched a handful of songs throughout and FBF is doing some very cool and insouciant things on vocals I had not heard him do on these tracks before.
Gilbert also pulls some really hilariously great lead showboating/mugging, even by his own exceedingly high standards.
Boy, I sure miss this band and their ballsy nerve.
In concert they were like a giant pile of obscure history books and pulp sci-fi novels, interspersed with an amazing collection of rock, punk, country, surf and jazz vinyl, and then stacked up and fashioned into a 12-ft tall statue of a giant hand flipping a bird at the audience.
But in a really good way, you know?

I like your description of the Catholics.
I've more to say on this show when I get a chance, in the meantime, here's the set list. Unless this was a shortened show, the encore isn't included. Still, it's really good to have this document from their last tour; maybe more videos of complete shows are out there and will surface in time.

Always fills me with warm feelings when I think about the Catholic shows I saw in 2000-2002. Something very special seeing the great Frank with this great rock band in some grungy venues, sometimes half-full thinking "Wow!" |

Oh, I love it. All these songs that made my early 20's, I know them by heart and soul... So nice to sing along them, and scream out loud from time to time. First time, I guess, that I hear Velouria by the Catholics. These tunes are pretty sexless statues, they're very much catholic indeed. I love Rich Gilbert.

There's a part during the show where the camera gets pulled down to the floor and you can just barely make out someone telling the videographer that he's gonna have to turn it off and leave. He then says something about how he asked for and received permission to videotape the show (I guess from the band?), and he is then allowed to resume and stay.
It's anyone's guess if that was actually true, or if those just weren't the droids they were looking for.
Either way, it worked.
Lucky us!

Is it the Catholic shirt from the Show me your tears tour that he is wearing on the low def picture of the site? He is a high def guitarist anyway.
