So, I took Iggy Pop's 'Lust for Life' and used an audio plugin (Winamp/Pacemaker) to lower its pitch by -2 octaves semitones.

Suddenly, it sounded exactly like Black Francis was singing it. I knew he always mentioned Iggy as an influence, but I didn't realize it was so literal, it's uncanny.

have to admit; thats pretty fuckin cool.

Wow - that's amazing! I think it's time to drop Iggy's entire catalog by 2 octaves! I wanna hear it ALL this way now.

I tried to pitch some Pixies songs 2 semitones up, but it doesn't sound like Iggy Pop. More like Madonna.

Hahaha! Incredible! I was quite skeptical reading your post but there's definitely something to it. Something like a lost b-side between TOTY and COR. Great experiment!

Evil chemical experience, it's really relevant on the first couple of verses.

I remember, the first time comrade Holiday Son listenned to Fun Time from Iggy's "The Idiot", he looked at me half shocked, half bewildered (maybe a bit disapointed) and said: but this is Frank Black's voice !

Anyway, "the vibration of unconsciousness manifests through the voice of those who dare"
