Looks like they might have played a new song between "I've Been Tired" and "Isla De Encanta". Anybody get it on video? Anybody?

The only new unreleased song they played was Silver Snail. If you're referring to the 'unknown' on setlist.fm, I think it is in regards to a fucked up Isla start. They tried to roll right into it and it completely fell apart. They joked about it for a minute the jumped back in where they left off. Pretty funny actually.
The set was awesome, the sound was maybe the best of any show I've ever seen. I guess it was the Carnegie Music hall's sound guy, but holy crap was the sound good. Also - Paz. Wow. What a delight. She is the shit. I really hope she sticks around for awhile. My wife even developed quite the crush on her throughout the night.
Anyway - Snail. I love all the new stuff, and it really fits right in with everything else live. But I can't wrap my head around Snail. I had heard it several times solo Frank, and didn't care for it then, but thought, hey, maybe with the band it will be better. For me, it's still not working. I kind of felt like the audience zoned a bit on it as well, but that may just be a mis-perception on my part.
Overall, great show. SUPER disappointed that they didn't play Hexe. :( Oh well, maybe next time.

Oh also - videos. They are hard core at the Carnegie Music Hall. at least up front where I was. Anyone holding their phone up for more than 20 seconds got their wrists slapped by security. I think I even saw one of those cattle prods from Casino and Don Rickles lurking in the shadows at one point....

With all due respect, I believe it might be Mr. Francis' delivery. I like the music and the lyrics are quite interesting. But I can't get into the part when he sings 'I am the Silver Snail'. I believe a little subdued sweetness to the singing might contrast nicely with the darkness of the music... whom am I to say though. Joey sounds great on this song. |

The version of Silver Snail with Paz at the violin was very good though

Indeed I enjoyed that whole set. Paz is a wonderful addition to the pixies. |
